Authentic Deception

Authentic Deception is a versatile poet. She will ask the right questions to determine who her audience is and customize her performance to that audience. She is not just a colorful poet but also a motivational speaker and real estate broker of 15 years. She developed a seminar presentation titled "The Role of a Realtor" to help first time homebuyers navigate through the terrifying process of buying a home to be successful in the first time home buying endeavors.

Tammy Fleming (stage name Authentic Deception) is a poet, a motivational speaker and a business woman for more than 25 years. Tammy has not always had it easy. She grew up in an all girls group home. She was placed in foster care at the age of 13, after her mother was one of the victims of a double murder suicide across the street from her childhood home. In high school, Tammy won the $10,000 Coca-Cola, Martin Luther King Jr scholarship. She made her case to Vocational Rehabilitation Association that she was a handicap of the state due to the fact that she didn’t have parents and wanted to go to college. That bit of genius landed Tammy another $1,500 a semester for college. This allowed her to attend the college of her choice. Without the scholarships, she would have had to attend a state college. Ms. Tammy graduated from Xavier University of Louisiana with a Bachelor in Accounting.
