Hi, My name is Otis.
I am a husband and a father living in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. My Wife Alice and I have 20 Grandchildren. We both enjoy Traveling, Mini Golf, Bingo and Family Trips. I am originally from Colorado while Alice is a native of Texas.
I saw my first magic show when I was in the 5th grade. But I wouldn't see any magic again until my early twenties and this time it was on television. I liked what I saw, but didn't know then this would one day be my calling. After graduating from High School, I got a phone call from a friend who invited me to his place for a Pool Party in which his cousin would be attending. His cousin was a Keyboard Player for two Very Popular singing groups at that time. I talked my mother into letting me go even though it didn't start till Midnight. Later that night I did get to meet the gentleman and was offered a job as his Personal Assistant as he was starting his own Band. I took the job of course and got to travel all over DFW and even to Hollywood with this band. I was having the time of my life for someone who just finished school. I got to meet so many famous people and be on the "INSIDE" of the Music Business. And then came THE SUCKER PUNCH TO THE GUT!
My New Boss dropped the news on me that the Popular Bands we were traveling with were at the end of their Record Contracts and were becoming Free Agents. I was crushed as I watched the Era of Disco and Funk Music Exit The Building. The Band members I worked with the most because they lived here in Dallas, Got Regular Jobs! I went and got a job at McDonald's. I didn't like the change, I missed being on the stage and all the Attention. I had to find my way Back. I Thought Long and Hard. And then I saw a David Copperfield Special on television and my light bulb came on! "Maybe I Can Do Magic?!" I went out and bought a book on how to do Magic. Next, I joined The International Magicians Society. There I learned even more magic tricks from Teaching Tapes on VHS. As time went on, I went from carrying a few small tricks in my pocket, to carrying them in a plastic grocery bag... and moved up to carrying them in a cardboard. Now when I go to do a show, I have to use a Huge Box Truck to carry all of my equipment.
My Passion for performing Magic has Grown as well. I have not only found a way to fill that Empty Hole left So long ago, but have found a way to bring that Same Excitement to My Own Show for My Own Audience!
It is Important that Performer has access to the performance area at least an hour before the show if performing for more than 15 minutes. Also convenient parking near the stage door. Will need working electricity that's easy to get to. I will need a performance area no smaller than 12ft x 12ft if performing a child from empty box.
No Bands or DJ's can be in performance area during my set up, performance or break down.
Prince, David Copperfield
