Hunter played an important gig with me in the main ballroom of the Disney Coronado Springs Resort. I'm a pianist (and also the Senior Vice President of a major international piano company) who was performing for the Music Teachers National Association Annual Gala. The audience was highly discerning, so the playing had to be excellent. Hunter, drummer Barry Smith and I formed a trio that brought the audience to its feet. Hunter is an excellent musician. He read the chart well, responded to all the required nuance, listened well to his fellow players and was very professional (not to mention good-natured). My experience with Hunter Guthrie was terrific. I would not hesitate to hire him again.
