Overview
Hi, I am Desra and here to serve YOU! I treat you with a unique style of face painting where I create as I go with your desired design in mind. We have some examples but can tweek as you like. Glitter and stones are part of the facepainting experience. My husband and I set up a tent if needed at no extra charge as well as helping me keep the facepainting experience smooth. I can paint fast or I can take my time in creating a masterpiece depending on what you need. Mostly I paint cheeks, half face, partial variations of full face, and arms. I have been painting professionally since 2015. Making you smile is what we look for, Be Artfully Happy!!

Springtown Garden Center welcomed Desra to our first ever Pumpkin Palooza in October to be our face painter for the event. We were not disappointed! She has a wonderful way with kids and her artistic talent is incredible. Every child that participated was in love with their painted face. We will definitely invite her back for Pumpkin Palooza 2025!

We had Desra over twice for our Apartment Community's event. She was early and set up professional, took care of the residents that attended with great interaction and attention. People were already asking me for her to return before the e3vent ended, ha! Can't beat that!

What to Expect
When you hire us… Be Artfully Happy whether through a painting party or facepainting we do all the work and come to you where it’s convenient for you.
When you hire us for a painting party event it will be themed and specific to your needs for the child or adult. Same with facepainting, we have meaningful conversations to make sure you get what you’re looking for before we arrive. We arrive early to set up and have everything in place by the time your guest arrive for the fun and excitement. We clean up and tear down all equipment as needed and make sure during the event that everyone is good and comfortable. When I face paint I take extra care and notice to sense out if someone is scared or never had a facepainting done before and reassure them by filling the brushes I use with out paint and explain what the experience would be like. Some kids have sensitivities to certain materials so I let them feel them first. I ask the child or adult if they are comfortable with a painting done on their face or arm or littles that have not had any experience or know what is about to happen. To counter that feeling I put a smiley face on their leg or arm for free. I will not force a child in doing something they are not sure about. There are many ways to relax a child and only have had one that did not want to do the activity but once they saw what it was about he waited to be the last one and got a arm painting. We strive to make the experience enjoyable. Your happy we are happy. Lastly but not least we thank you for letting us be a part of the joyful experience we were booked for. We always want to be our best to serve you and it is always an honor.
About
I have been an artist since 2011. But just to take you back a bit my story did not start out a happy one but it taught me a lot and who I have become today. Abused, manipulated and controlled started at an early age of 3 in 1964 by people that are suppose to love you. This continued into a marriage resulting in a divorce in 2002. Fast forward to 2011 I was diagnosed with PTSD and slowly the healing started. I found out I could draw and paint. To this day I use art as a healing tool for myself and hopefully I can pass that on to others. I wasn’t even aware I was doing that at the beginning it was an escape for me. Eight years prior to being married again in 2010 I started to flourish in my art and healing in so many ways since because of my husband.
How did Be Artfully Happy come about? It came from my passion to love others and make them happy. My business legal name is Artfully Happy The Art of Healing, LLC. in short... Be Artfully Happy. My aim is to make you happy and to give you a unique experience whether through my facepainting or through a birthday painting party on our art bus. Let’s Be Artfully Happy together and let’s get started on your unique and memorable event.

Influences & Inspiration
Our influences have been negative on us but we turn it around to influence others to also be good and be kind by example. Resilience from the past traumas is at the forefront of who we are. For my husband and I to be the best we can be in any given situation. We are a Christian couple to drive the characteristics of what would God do to help society and each other while respecting all views of society.
