We are Not a dueling pianos company. We are the same 2 guys always, and have been "the Choice" for dueling pianos in Kansas City, and "the Choice" for dueling pianos in the Midwest for a decade! This is not your typical 2 people coming together (where many times they have never played together before & you are the Guinea pig! --Wow!) -of course they will tell you differently.

We don't have a drummer,guitar player, bass player etc..making it Too Loud & taking up too much space, to try and achieve a full band sound for dancing etc... We sound & feel like a kickin band with just the 2 of us!

When you only have 2 guys (not a full band like other dueling pianos acts have) you can start and stop songs-- change songs and make any move you want or need to--but when you have a drummer,guitar players etc..- you can't do that consequently making the songs and show long and Boring!

The sound system and the ability of the operator of the sound is the most Overlooked and important aspect of nearly all dueling pianos based acts. The correct sound system and sound engineer can make you feel the intended emotion of the music, singing and spoken word at comfortable and enjoyable volume levels.
The wrong sound system ( usually too small and of poor quality ), coupled with an clueless engineer can absolutely ruin an event.

Stage Placement & Room Layout Are Crucial:

Regarding layout of the room—In order to achieve our goal of giving the audience the highest level of impact , we coordinate in the beginning with the client to determine the stage and dance floor placement. It’s also very crucial to have the people and tables as close in to us as possible. This is Very important to connectivity and interaction.

Spike is an incredible entertainer & vocalist.You'll do a double take when you hear him sing Michael McDonald, Joe Cocker, Ray Charles, Led Zepplin or Frank Sinatra songs. Then he can turn around and blow you away with country hits, sounding like Garth Brooks, George Strait etc...
Accomplished at several instruments, Spike is able to put songs together ( record ) into his keyboard and at the touch of a button sound and feel like a "Kick Butt" band capable of packing a dance floor! Then in the tradition of dueling pianos, play "Billy Joel" style piano songs and take requests from the crowd. He gets the audience involved!! - from having them sing along or making them get up to sing along to roasting someone having a birthday or getting married -- then Spike, in addition to being a monster vocalist and musician, is also one of the most highly interactive DJ's in the country!
Spike incorporates this talent with all the above to round out the Multi Dimensional power house that is Big Show dueling pianos.
