Ben was phenomenal on the wedding day! Aside from his great talent, he handled transitions throughout the day perfectly, made announcements on time and completely surprised me with his MC skills - SO GOOD! I am an event planner and have seen/worked with many musicians in my day and Ben was top notch! He is truly skilled and I hope to work with him again very soon! Thank you Ben :)

About
A natural performer and talented singer/songwriter, Benjamin Griffith’s live performances have captivated thousands of audiences not only in South Texas, but as far as California, Illinois and Louisiana. After an entire childhood of singing and performing various instruments solo and in ensembles, Ben landed his first 4 hour regular residency show at a restaurant & bar in San Antonio at the age of 18 and has been performing at high-profile venues and festivals all over the country and has been featured on National Television and radio, Fiesta in SA, and has even gotten to work his favorite basketball team, The Spurs, during the playoffs season 2015.
His main body of work is indie folk with memorable melodies (often featuring compound meter) that take major influences from pop, rock, blues, jazz, progressive and many combinations in between. Many of his originals and stylized covers take a turn more towards the ethereal with a sprinkle of a few vocal effects and bass line introduced into the guitar work. Others take more of a funk or 90’s R&B feel, can have rhythmic undertones of Latin influence, and subtle folk, soul and indie rock flavors. With a tremendously wide vocal range reaching from basso profundo all the way up to countertenor, he nails crystal clear notes with expert control, spot-on dynamics, solid support, all while strumming rhythm, thumbing bass riffs, and a lead line that create a musical experience you would never expect to get from a solo acoustic performance.
In February of 2014, Ben Griffith joined indie alt rock band, The Black Market Club as a keyboard/synthesizer player and backup vocalist. Shortly after losing the previous lead vocalist in early 2015, the band went down to 5 members and Ben became the new lead vocalist. That month they won 1st place in the Riverfest Battle of the Bands on the Riverwalk becoming the official band of the Riverwalk, performing for every river parade that year. They have since opened up for some world touring acts such as Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness,The Maine, Hawthorne Heights, Bastille, to name a few. (This more rock oriented group is available for wedding bookings as well upon request. We have done many receptions in the past with this group with a set that centers more around 80's and 90's rock classics as well as standard wedding classics eg. "Stand by me" and "Shout" )
In January of 2015 Ben joined The Scott Ivey Band just in time to audition for the Belk Southern Music Showcase competition and out of 12,000 bands, they came out as one of the top five winners sharing a tour of the largest festivals on the east coast as well as appearances on ESPN.
In addition to tours with the Black Market Club and otherwise, Benjamin Griffith is currently performing shows several nights a week as acoustic solo, duo and trio acts at esteemed venues, high-end hotels and resorts in San Antonio and Austin, as well as writing/recording music for an upcoming solo album.
