Hi, I'm Benjamin Hunter and I can play your event. I play violin, mandolin, guitar, and sing. Roaming classical or jazz violinist. Country, blues, and ragtime fiddle tunes. Or I pull out the guitar or mandolin and play some jazz standards, folk ballads, country blues, or R&B/Soul songs. Corporate events, birthday parties, background music at a special event, surprise romantic accompaniments...I can help you. I play solo or I can put a group together...
~ I play in a duo, playing American Roots music, and we do a variety of styles of pre-war blues, jazz and folk tunes.
~ I can also put an ensemble together. Jazz, country, bluegrass, blues, or classical!

We asked Benjamin to do a mini-concert for a regular corporate event that we do. He put on a great short performance with some nice teaching/history moments included, all packed into 20 minutes, and ending on the dot as our event was scheduled to start.
Ben is incredible. He has a lovely presence and demeanor and set the stage with incredible music for our company party. Incredible talent! Looking forward to hiring him again soon.
Ben was an absolute delight to have at our holiday party! It's hard to put into words how perfect his playing complemented our cocktail get together. I cannot recommend him enough to anyone needing to add something extra to any party.
Response from Benjamin Hunter:
Thanks Chad! You treated me well, were very communicative, and host a good party! Happy Holidays!
Ben was professional and very easy to work with. I definitely recommend him.
Ben Hunter came and played for our dinner party and he was fantastic. He was not only quick to reply to my emails, but showed up on time, dressed well, played beautifully, and stayed to chat a little with us and our guests which everyone enjoyed. Highly recommend.
Benjamin came to our house for a backyard pumpkin carving and autumn party. He impressed us all with his talent playing the three instruments he brought, his beautiful singing voice, and his personal style. He exuded warmth and kindness and brought such a lovely vibe to our event. We wished we never had to say goodbye!
I highly recommend him and hope that we have an occasion to book him again in the very near future!

Depending on the show, I can provide you with a variety of expectations. I'm a "songster", so I play to the occasion:
I can play an intimate room with background jazz and blues.
I can play a raucous, backyard square dance, bbq, or picnic.
I can play a wedding, birthday, or funeral.
I can play a corporate event that requires upbeat background music.
I can roam through a crowd playing romantic violin tangos or waltz's.
I can do all of these things solo, or with various ensemble arrangements!
Reality has offered a fertile canvas for violinist, multi-instrumentalist, storyteller, educator and community enterpriser Benjamin Hunter’s endeavoring mind. Cross pollinating multiple artistic disciplines for more than a decade, the Seattle based polymath has dedicated his life to transforming the world’s stale status quo into a vibrant, inclusive, communal, and compassionate society.
Hunter’s first tool was the violin accompanying him on laps around the world. Playing since age 5, he was fortunate to travel the world and absorb various musical styles at a young age. Receiving his degree in Performance Violin, with keen interest in politics and philosophy, Hunter set his sights on the intersection between art, community, and a rapidly evolving clash of culture.
Touring with his band mate Joe Seamons in the internationally acclaimed, award-winning blues duo, Ben Hunter & Joe Seamons, Hunter’s stirring instrumentation and timbre brought tales of the slave trade, reconstruction, racial reconciliation, and America’s still broken promises to the uninclined.
The multi-disciplinarians latest adventure has taken him to the stage as composer and musical director and cast-mate in acclaimed director Dani Terrell’s Black Bois. The incomparable performance art piece explores and shakes to the foundation the concept of Black masculinity, suffering, and ultimate triumph. The piece helped Hunter destroy toxic stereotypes still assaulting America’s “unwanted step-children.”
In his solo work, Hunter merges his entire musical experience; classical, world, blues, folk, jazz, R&B, soul, you name it. Whether it's in the background or up front, solo or with other musicians, Benjamin is not just a performer and entertainer, he makes music to tell stories that everyone can enjoy.
I don't provide sound equipment, unless we've negotiated that in the contract. If you are providing sound, all I need is a cardioid condenser microphone, or a vocal and instrument mic (like a Shure 57 or 58).
