This was 110% of what we would have considered perfect at 100%
I cannot imagine anyone doing a better job and handling the transitions and complexities we asked of him any better!
We asked him to open the party, then serenade the guest of honor (90th birthday) and then provide background for the outdoor party as people are.
Note: Covid 19 protocols were extremely important with many elderly guests and he was very well versed in them and prepared to conduct a very safe socially distanced outdoor event.
SIX stars. Nearly 1/3 of the guests asked for his card.
-The voice ✅ perfect
- Song selection✅Perfect
- Communication and coordination before event ✅ perfect

Bernie was outstanding! All I heard from the guest all night was how fantastic Bernie was performing. There was a guitarist there as well for a while and Bernie was great working with him putting on a show. He is easy to work with and very flexible. I would definitely give him a call for a future event!

I could wax poetic about how fantastic this man is but I'll just let you read all of the other wonderful client and audiance reviews of Bernie Martini. They are all true. He is just the most fun, approachable, engaging and talented singer/pianist. I saw him on a Royal Carribean cruise from Baltimore to Bermuda then to Boston, Newport, Rhode Isand and then back to Baltimore which departed on August 9, 2012. He literally saved my cruise. He was fantastic, entertainig and very talented. A showman with consumate skills and a knack for keeping it real. My evenings spent listening to him perform were so mucy fun. Bernie rocks, rolls, croons, serenades and delights with his considerable talent. Oh... and by the way, I don't know what they pay him, but Royal Carribean should pay him more. He out shined and way outclassed the other performers on the ship.
Go Bernie!!!
This man who is self taught on the piano and sings with a voice that is silky smooth duly impressed me and my wife on a Norwegian Line cruise out of NYC. After hearing him do a tribute to Sinatra we did not miss one performance. We consider him the stand out in the cruise and purchased both of his CD's. His interaction with his audience is first rate from a day gone by. We would highly recommend to anyone with a chance to hear this man play piano and sing, take it.
My husband and I were fortunate to cruise with Bernie Martini on the NCL Spirit. He performed in the main dining room, theater, large lounge and bar above the atrium on the piano and at times with the Show Band. In addition to his regular schedule, Bernie prepared four brilliant tributes to Cole Porter, Michael Buble, Sir Elton John and Frank Sinatra complete with costume and video screen. Bernie's own special style combined with already great music was nothing short of spectacular. Adding to Bernie's delivery is his personality making for an appreciative audience. He received standing ovations and requests to extend his shows. Bernie's beautiful voice and amazing piano skills are remarkable both individually and combined. We attended every performance and continue enjoying his music at home on his CD's and YouTube. We look forward to joining him on his next cruise for another fantastic musical adventure.
We experienced the magic of Bernie Martini in August 2009 on NCL to Bermuda. My husband and I came back to his set night after night. We were in San Antonio in Oct. 2011 and we are so upset that we didn't know Berni was in performing there. From reading his website we were all around him and missed his performances! So sad. I purchased his CD on the cruise in 09 and play it all the time. A return trip to San Antonio is now a must just to see Berni!!!
What a lunch special I had. San Antonio Texas, November 8, 2011 Main Plaza. On my lunch hour I got to hear him for the first time, what a talent. His voice is as smooth as your finest whisky. I feel very proud to have such a talent in our city. I will buy his music so that I can listen over and over again to him. I will follow his talent every chance I can.
We first heard Bernie on a cruise to Bermuda. Not only did we stay for the entire set, but came back many other nights to listen to his beautiful voice. He has a personality that can charm you and talent that should not be missed. Close your eyes and you'll hear Sinatra, Buble, and many others, but in a special Martini Man rendition. I bought his CD and have played it over and over. We cannot wait to hear Bernie Martini live again.
Back in Feb. 2008, while cruising on the Norwegian Majesty, I had the opportunity to attend the performance of one of the most talented & nicest young men that I have ever known. He was willing to play & sing all the requests that we gave him & I was totally amazed at how many songs he knew & how well he performed them. He is not only a talented musician but one of the hardest working & honest persons that I know.
He was not aware of it, but I was recovering from a very serious illness, so what could have been a very depressing holiday, thanks to Bernie, turned out to be one of the nicest ones that I have ever experienced.
Bernie Martini is not only a fabulous musician but a great person as well. His huge variety of music, Frank Sinatra to Michael Buble make every evening with him a new experience and the special touch that he adds to each song will make you not forget him. He is more than just a piano player and singer - he is a full entertainer, putting in little jokes here and there and even more, adjusting to the audience, no matter where they come from - and especially charming the ladies with his "Spanish Touch". I was lucky to hear him play in different locations and multiple times - and each show was unique and just great. I own his music and listen to it all the time.
In short, Bernie is a must hear!
"I met Bernie in 2008 and cruised with him on few different ships and itineraries. I am still cruising and I am still amazed by his talent.
One day I was stuck with some other things in his lounge, which was always full by the way, and heard for the first time 'Bridge over trouble waters'...it was very hard to hide my tears! Of course I had to buy his CD right away. Now I have Bernie Martini with me everywhere I travel.
And what defines him? Well, he brings Frank Sinatra back to life like no one ever did before."
Bernie Martini is a gifted and amazing vocalist and musician. I first discovered him on a Norwegian cruise to Bermuda when walking past a standing room only lounge. My husband and I remained there for his entire set having become immediately addicted to his beautiful smooth voice, excellent piano skills and enormous varied repertoire. He was receptive to all song requests and kept the guests totally engaged with his warmth, humor, encouragement of audience participation and rapport endearing himself to everyone. It was difficult calling it a night and we eagerly looked forward to every one of his performances that week. Bernie also has a great stage presence when singing with the Show Band and knows how to work a crowd.
It was difficult saying good-bye to Bernie and we scheduled our next cruises according to his ship schedules. He is a talented performer who excels in any venue, utilizes his own "Martini Twist," and audiences easily connect with his passion for music.
Several winters ago, while crusing on a Norwegian Cruise Line ship, I had the privilege of hearing Bernie Martini perform during the week of Valentines Day. Unknowing to him, I was recuperating from a serious health problem.
He sang & played all the songs that I requested as well as the requests of all the others attending. His pleasant personality, his willingness to please everyone, & his beautiful music turned what could have been a very sad week for me, into one of my happiest.
Anyone who employs him should never be disappointed for he is a
honest, hardworking young man as well as a gifted musician.

How good is Bernie Martini? Well, we scheduled four NCL cruises around his schedule. Bernie is both a pleasure to listen to for hours on end and also a most amiable young man.
Though singing popular tunes by Sinatra, Bennett, Buble and others, Bernie has a distinctive delivery style which adds freshness to classic standards. I would recommend Bernie to anyone looking for great vocal and piano entertainment with a mesmerizing delivery.
HE'S THE BEST!!!
I saw Bernie Martini perform live at Borders (Quarry) and have realized that he is not just a simple singer that so happens to play the piano...... he is an ALL OUT, FULL BLOWN Entertainer!!! What seemed to start off as an easy listning, background sound turned out to be a hands-on engaging performance. The crowd just got bigger and bigger. The people were drawn to his sultry voice. I can tell you that there were no seats available soon after he started, people were gathered 'round standing between the bookcase isles, even blocking the front entrance. Once you get a taste of the sound you are "hooked". He took lots of requests and showed his great sense of humor in keeping the audience involved. Take the time to make it to one of his public events and you'll see what I mean........ better yet, HIRE HIM PERSONALLY AND GET HIM ALL TO YOURSELF!!!!!!
Bernie Martini (totally awesome! His venues got crowded as passengers discovered his amazing vocal/piano talents throughout the week. A young good looking crooner, he never disappointed. The honeymooners gave him the hardest working musician award of the week because he played everywhere days/nights. We concluded he must drink olive oil to keep his voice so smooth for that long!)
“The entertainment was excellent and abundant. We enjoyed the performances of Bernie Martini, a gifted singer and piano player specializing in the American classic songbook (SINATRA, TONY BENNET) as well as modern popular tunes. Bernie played 4 hour sets in Gatsbys lounge as well as all many surrounding areas that would be fulled with cruisers enjoying his beautiful voice and musical styles. Many fans sang along, and he was very gracious about taking requests”
Norwegian Dawn Cruise Review by bennino.
We were on the Dawn two weeks ago and really enjoyed one of their featured entertainers, Bernie Martini. He is a singer and pianist who looks and sounds like Michael Buble' and does a lot of traditional "crooning" in the style of Sinatra and Tony Bennet, This was the first week that Bernie was on board and he played in the Star Bar and Gatsby's piano bar. He also did a couple of shows in the Main Theater with the NCL Show Band which were excellent”
“I wanted to post this here so that if you are on the Dawn, you should make an effort to catch his shows. He is really entertaining and took a lot of requests. He really kept the people happy at the shows we attended. I would love to hear back from others who have seen him since and hear your comments

“Legendary Piano Man,” Bernie Martini takes you on a musical tour through all styles of music performing a repertoire of over 300 songs. Rather than mimic other artists, he employs his own style referred to as his “Martini twist.” There are special tributes to Frank Sinatra, Michael Buble and Elton John. “My passion is doing live performances and entertaining to all ages with songs such as Louis Armstrong’s “What a Wonderful World” and Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believing.”
“Wow. What style. What a voice. What glamour (can a man have glamour? I think so…). Really one of the most enjoyable parts of the first transatlantic crossing on the Epic,” commented one passenger on Bernie Martini’s website.
There is no choice but to feel compelled to join those already seated and be captivated by his wonderful voice, accomplished piano skills, and engaging personality.
Requests and participation are always encouraged. One night I observed a young man dragging his heavy chair right up to the piano. Others floated out of comfortable seats dancing to the rhythm. The Piano Man’s dark brown eyes sparkled reflecting the lights of the chandelier delighted with the connection to his “passion for music.” His devotion to the audience is evident when he asks, “Is everyone having a great time?”
Piano Man Bernie Martini is indeed a treasure to be discovered in San Antonio
Both of Bernie’s parents were musically inclined with his father being professionally trained in vocals and music. They were a constant influence on Bernie and his two sisters, however, it would be a while before this path opened itself for Bernie. He had other ideas about where his life should take him.
From an early age, Bernie yearned to travel the world and become an architect and a part-time chef. Although he had musical instruments at his fingertips, he preferred to be in the kitchen learning to cook or sketching city landscapes. It wasn’t until the age of ten that Bernie began to take a serious interest in music, igniting the musical passion within him. He began with the base guitar, self- teaching and practicing up to eight hours a day and went on to play in the local church band that was led by his father.
At the age of seventeen, Bernie and his father built a home recording studio enabling Bernie to quickly master the synthesizer and learn many other instruments. He also became proficient in the art of sequencing and producing music for songwriters which vastly increased his skills.
Bernie eventually found himself feeling a little uneasy. Although he was having fun producing music, he was twenty-five years old and still living in the small quaint city of Salem, Oregon. He knew things had to change and took a radical step by announcing to his family, “I’m moving to Japan!” That one sentence would change Bernie’s life beyond all that he could have imagined.
Bernie grabbed all of his savings, jumped on a plane and headed for Japan. He adored the time spent in Japan and although it was a struggle to make ends meet, the people he met and the friendships created made it all worthwhile. Bernie began to give English lessons but he needed that little bit extra in the form of income and it was then that an idea made itself known. Being a talented musician, he could entertain in lounges and bars, however, he knew that this path would be difficult since not knowing the language was a formidable barrier.
After a few months of trying to crack the music scene in Nagoya, Japan, Bernie had a breakthrough. A sports bar named Shooters was holding an open mic night and it was there after a string of events with the rockabilly band “The Fats” that Bernie’s life was about to take a very interesting turn. He was approached by a very well- known singing artist named Prisca Molotsi who immediately noticed Bernie’s raw talent. Prisca brought Bernie into the music scene by having him sing at popular jazz venues such as Jungle Jap and Star Eyes where he was heard by many.
Another opportunity now presented itself for Bernie when approached one evening by a man named Hiroyiki Tobitsuka. He ran an entertainment agency and offered Bernie his first official contract with one of the most prestigious hotels in Japan-The Ritz Carlton Osaka! At the completion of this assignment, Bernie then accepted contracts at the Westin Chosun and Grand Hyatt hotels in Seoul, South Korea.
Bernie then became interested in the idea of performing on a cruise ship and contacted agent Michael Suman in Florida. He was hired and embarked on a new adventure entertaining for Royal Caribbean, Disney and Norwegian Cruise lines. He has established himself as a well-known and popular cruise ship entertainer appearing in various venues including the lounge, theater, dining room, casino, atrium and pool deck.
Bernie continues his journey down the musical path and has added public appearances and private parties in San Antonio, Texas. His website contains information on where he is currently entertaining.
This has been the story of how one simple decision to visit Japan transformed Bernie’s life. He continues exploring many opportunities while traveling along the unfolding glittering path.
