Billy

Sprung from the roots of the seminal punk bluegrass band, Seigobillies, the four person tandem known as Billy has steadily evolved into one of New Jerseys most versatile and loved bands. Billy has been referred to as equal parts Argybargy era Squeeze and early Elvis Costello, along with bits and pieces of Midnight Oil and Billy Bragg.

The songs hold the essence of great rock and roll—melodic vocals, catchy hooks, tight harmonies, with rhythmic and often introspectively poetic lyrics. Live shows are energetic and loads of fun — billy songs span the spectrum from edgy rock and shoe stomping, punk-powered bluegrass all the way to melodic, roots-inspired ballads.

Known for their use of diverse instruments including guitars, banjo, sax, accordion and Irish bagpipes, billy has been called “refreshing” by Jersey Beat Magazine and “one of New Jersey’s top live bands.” Having had songs on such TV shows as MTV’s Road Rules Challenge, Why Can't I Be You, American Pickers and CMT's Hot 20 Countdown, billy is excited to announce the release of the band’s third full length album, Hey Spaceman.
