I love playing different genres of music on my violin. I usually arrange pop, R&B, and soul type music. So if you want something different, I'm definitely down for that!
My god she was very professional and beautiful playing of selection of songs. She was elegant and made our event very memorable
Response from Black Violin Girl:
The way your event was executed and the good vibes all around. Thank you for the opportunity!!
Edith did such an amazing job for my wedding. Beautiful music! I'm glad I chose her for my special day. Highly recommend.
Edith was amazing from the beginning to the end. I booked her last minute and she was so helpful. Edith communicated with me well before my event to confirm my selection of songs. She arrived on time and her performance was amazing. I would definitely book her again !
2 stars because She was nice, however, I couldn’t hear her playing the whole time so i don’t know if she played any up tempo songs that I requested. Took her at least 20 min to start which took up time I paid for. She should arrive a few min early to set up and get situated. I booked(paid) her for two hours and she left shortly after one hour without even speaking with me personally. I was expecting a totally different experience.
Response from Black Violin Girl:
I’m sorry you felt this way. It did take me time for parking, and I came straight from another gig. I waited and got clearance from a gentleman in a tux and he said that I was free to go after the company left for the dining area. I did wait for another 10 minutes before I actually departed. I was playing more upbeat music, but I feel because of me not having my amp with background music would’ve made the situation better. I’m sorry once again for you not being satisfied. Thank you for the feedback for it will help me improve my performance 😄🙏🏽
We really enjoyed Edith's performance. Definitely will be using her again!
Response from Black Violin Girl:
Awwww thank you so much! Thank you for honoring me with the opportunity 😄🙏🏽
Edith was Amazing Violinist! I planned a surprise 15 year Anniversary for my wife and I wanted everything to be perfect and absolute it was! Edith arrived earlier and was ready to play! We enjoyed all of her musical selections. Thank you Edith!!
My event was on 1/18/2020. It decided to snow the day of my event and not only was she on time, she travelled all the way from Connecticut to NJ. She was early and she waited over an hour for my guests to arrive because they were stuck in the bad weather. She played her sets perfectly and she was so friendly and fun. She was dressed perfectly for the occasion and everyone was raving about how amazing she was. We all thoroughly enjoyed her music and she made my party perfect. Thank you so much!
Response from Black Violin Girl:
Awww thank you sooo sooo much! 🙏🏽💚

Hi, my name is Edith and I have been playing the violin for 16 years. I started playing the violin in the fifth grade. My inspiration to start playing was my younger brother who started playing before me. My motivation to keep going was the desire to be better than him. Literally that was it, ha! He ended up quitting after two years and switched to band. As I continued playing in orchestra, my desire to improve my skills and become a better player increased and my ambition increased with it. Through grade school I never received private lessons, I always put in extra practice and worked harder than my peers. It paid off!
I started my college career at Winston Salem State University and developed the reputation as the “Violin Girl” from the performance I gave during freshman orientation week. My first semester (fall 2015) is when I started receiving lessons as part of my curriculum. I ended up moving after two semesters and transferred to Connecticut for personal reasons. I ended up graduating from Western Connecticut State University in December 2019 with my Bachelor of Arts degree in music with a violin concentration. My musical skills overall have increased as well as my confidence!
My first professional hired gig was a wedding ceremony in August 2017. Ever since then I’ve done multiple weddings as well as different type of events from cocktail hours, fundraisers, engagements, make ups, church events and even funerals! I’m very diverse in the music category. My repertoire includes traditional, classical , pop, R&B, contemporary, and gospel. I’m slowly but surely getting into jazz as well. I also give private lessons as well. I love passing my knowledge to individuals of ANY age whenever I can.
When it comes to events and there’s specific songs desired, I make it my mission to arrange the song/songs desired, and if for whatever reason I’m not able to, I’ll let you know! So overall, I’m a pretty diverse musician. I hope you read this far and will consider me for your event!
When hired, I bring my own equipment. I have my music, violin, stand, and amp. The only thing I ask for (depending on the event) is a chair.

One of my top influences John the Violinist. He’s a TikTok famous…honestly overall very well known on MULTIPLE social media platforms that I have worked with personally.
Another is the group Black Violin, you don’t see as many people of color being promoted but this violin/viola duo has been doing this for YEARS before the pandemic. The make their own music as well as put twists on classical pieces. My favorite song by them to this day is called “A Flat.”
