I play the piano! I can play just about anything especially if it's a jazz, blues or pop/rock tune. If your venue can provide a piano I am happy to play on yours if it is in reasonably good condition, but I can bring my digital piano with me when needed!
I am always happy to take requests-although you never know what kind of creative jazzy spin I may put on it! With thousands of songs under my fingers (and stored as charts in an ipad) I have a piano and will travel, whether you just need some light background music or a more prominent interactive experience, I will make your event a joy and an unforgettable experience!
You might wonder: what makes Blue Louis so blue? Is he related to smurfs? A former member of the Blue Man Group? Did he ingest too much colloidal silver? No, but those would be much more interesting than the real answer so maybe we should just pick one of those and run with it!
Blue Louis is the stage name of a jazz pianist from Sheboygan, Wisconsin. Jazz and blues go together like peanut butter and jelly and since Blue Louis specializes in jazz piano he threw on a blue suit and voila! Blue Louis was born. Blue Louis is new to the Wisconsin music scene as of 2024 but under his alter ego identity Blue Louis has played thousands of shows with several different bands and as a soloist, been a lounge pianist in residence, won a bunch of awards and is demonstrably one of the top piano players in Eastern Wisconsin.
If I bring my own piano (digital piano) I will need a standard electrical outlet to plug in to.
I am able to provide some minimal lighting if desired, although it will require additional outlets.
For most gigs-especially lounge piano or background gigs-the internal speakers on my digital piano can provide more than enough volume, but if you have an exceptionally large performance space or you want to make sure the piano is audible to a large audience I do have amplification equipment to cover any venue smaller than a theatre (and depending on the theatre, I could probably handle it). Any extra amplification equipment will require additional outlets near the performance space.
