After my presentation, your audience, preteens/teens or adults will be encouraged to overcome their obstacles to pursue their life purpose. Your audience will be inspired to discover their unique gifts, strengths, natural talents, and skills, so they can live a life with purpose. We all have a gift to share with the world. People around the world are waiting to be inspired and encouraged by our gifts and talents.
When young people focus more on their strengths (natural talents) instead of their weaknesses they will live a more positive, happier, and productive life. They will realize that their life has a purpose. Too many of our teenagers today are told to focus on their weaknesses, but are seldom asked: "What are you good at".
When I speak to adults, I want to encourage them that it's not too late to pursue their purpose/dreams. Work doesn't have to be just a means for making a paycheck. A job or business should be aligned with one's strengths, natural talents, skills, and passion. And when it is, then it's not just working to make money. You can stop dreading Monday mornings and don't have to wait for retirement to start enjoying life. When you do what you love (Your Dream), you will never have to work a day in your life.
When your audience leaves my presentation they will be inspired and encouraged to pursue their purpose/dreams regardless of life's obstacles and circumstances that seem to be in their way.
I'm a retired math and special education teacher. My specialty was working with students with learning disabilities and behavior disorders. I could relate to students that struggled with learning disabilities because my reading disability made it difficult for me to be successful in school. I let my circumstances and obstacles keep me from pursuing my dream of being a teacher until I was 38 years old.
As a speaker, I want to use my life experience of overcoming obstacles and adversities to help, inspire and encourage your audience or congregation to discover their purpose / God's calling and live a passionate, purpose-filled life.
Too often in life, we allow roadblocks and obstacles in our life to keep us from reaching our full potential and living life with purpose.
I believe we were all created for a purpose and I want to teach and encourage teenagers and adults to find that purpose, regardless of their age. When we identify and develop our strengths, gifts, natural talents, and skills, we will discover our purpose and passion for our lives. We can also use our gifts and talents to encourage and inspire people around the world.
Too often we focus on teenagers' weaknesses instead of identifying their strengths and helping them develop those strengths.
From the age of 16-38, I had over 25 different jobs. I didn't use my gift of teaching with any of these jobs. I wandered from job to job for more money or better hours.
I finally pursued my dream of being a teacher at the age of 38 after an amazing encounter with God. One week after my encounter with God I went back to school to pursue a teaching career. I started teaching at the age of 43. I was finally living out my purpose I was meant to live.
There were many obstacles to overcome going back to school, but I succeeded and I want other people, young or old to know that they can succeed as well. Despite the obstacles I faced going back to school, I never once thought about giving up.
I retired from full-time classroom teaching in 2012 and now I help others pursue their dreams as a speaker, author, and coach. I also teach part-time at a local college.
I encourage adults that it’s never too late to pursue their dreams, whether it be going back to school, changing careers or starting your own business.
In 2015 I wrote and published my life story about my "prodigal son" journey and how God restored my relationship with Him. It's a story of restoration through God's amazing grace. The book is called, "God Met Me at The Mailbox".
