Elegant, charming and joyful, Bobbie &/or Bashirah Middle Eastern Dance Company is available for family friendly festivals, shows, corporate functions, weddings, parties, or other special occasions in the Greater Victoria, BC area (no male only events).
Solo or group performances are 15 - 20 minutes in length but can be adjusted according to the event.
Performance/lesson packages (1 hour) are also available and are ideal for ensuring memorable birthday parties, bachelorette parties, wedding and baby showers.

Bobbie & Bashirah Middle Eastern Dance Company perform traditional Oriental and folkloric Middle Eastern belly dance.
Props used include zills (finger cymbals), veils, sword, canes & Isis wings.
Group pieces are choreographed. Solo performances are improvised and designed to provide opportunities for audience interaction. Our aim is to provide a lively, exciting, exotic, joyful experience for performers and audience alike!
Bobbie has been studying Middle Eastern belly dance for 18 years taking regular local classes and workshops as well as travelling in Canada and the US to attend workshops and intensives with some of the best Middle Eastern Dance instructors from around the world. She formed Bashirah Middle Eastern Dance Company in 2008 and opened Bashirah Middle Eastern Dance Studio in 2009. As a soloist and troupe member, Bobbie has performed at many staged shows featuring highly acclaimed local, national and international belly dance stars, as well as private events. She has produced several shows (both alone and in collaboration) and hosted other Middle Eastern dance instructors here in Victoria, BC.
Bobbie and Bashirah MED Company perform annually at several public festivals as well as being hired for private events in the greater Victoria area.

Adequate Sound System with CD or iPod playing capabilities. The sound system is an important part of the show and should be tested prior to the arrival of the performer(s). Louder is better.
