When I made the decision to have an Indian dance performance at my wedding, I wanted to make sure, they showed as many different dance forms India has, and I believe Sufiana Dance Company has succeed at showing all types of dance forms at the wedding. My wedding was majority of Canadians who have never seen Indian Dancing so it was very important to me to have someone who I can connect with and tell them what I really wanted. Kanushree listened to everything I wanted, we were on multiple calls through out the planning process and she told me she will deliver to all my demands. Kanushree, Anamiika, and Roshini have performed so well and made sure all the guests were engaged in the performance, it was the wedding of the decade, because their performance was the highlight of our wedding. They have exceed all my expectations and I am thankful I hired them for my special day
Wedding Guest Reviews: Till this day, all the guests are still amazed about how incredible the performance was and everyone who attended says they will remember the performance for rest of their lives. They have set the bar high for any future performances we might have in the family. We LOVED the show, it was magnificent. Some of the family members said: We absolutely loved watching the show. It was amazing from start to finish. It beautifully structured choreography throughout the whole performance.
My husband has literally never danced in his life and even he had the best time and danced with Kanushree and her team the whole time they were on the dance floor. The biggest treat for us is to watch someone who is dancing so completely that is clear to us the joy they all feel by performing. The common element to the performances was the strive for precision and perfection. The dancers were thoroughly captivating and it was clear to everyone in the audience that what they were presenting was the result of countless hours of practice and training. Their presentation represented different culture of India and different forms of dance, their outfits were amazing and it fit well with the whole performance as they were in traditional outfits. The props they used were the amazing addition that everyone enjoyed.

Kanushree is absolutely amazing. She put on a performance in which so many of our wedding guests still talk about to this day. She is friendly, easy to work with and ensure that you feel at ease prior to your special day.
We had a blended wedding (Guyanese/Italian) so we wanted to ensure that all guests had an experience they wouldn’t forget. Kanushree did an amazing job at bringing our dance floor to life. We wanted this performance to be a surprise to our guests and so Kanushree pretended to be a guests from the very start and she did an amazing job at that. We had our first dance and then…the magic happened. Kanushree preformed for our guest leaving everyone in aww 😊!
Following her performance she taught us (bride and groom) some dance moves followed by engaging with our guests. Our dance floor was filled with guests by the end of the performance. You can truly see her passion for dance and her years of experience teaching and performing. She is so incredibly talented.

It was a surprise baby shower party. Kanushree’s dance was the highlight. She is an expert in Bollywood dances. She suggested the songs for the occasion which were liked by everyone. Her performance was mind blowing. She also got everyone foot tapping at the end of the party.

We co-hosted a mixed Scottish, Dutch, Canadian and Indian wedding for our son and his new wife on the Civic holiday weekend. With such a blend of cultures we wanted to ensure everyone felt included and involved. Kanushree performed several beautiful dances which had everyone at the reception clapping to the beat! A perfect way to liven things up! Kanushree returned to the dance floor after dinner and speeches, to draw people up to dance and try a different style of dancing! The "Westerners" jumped up to try and follow Kanushree's moves, and the Indians literally jumped into things! What a marvelous party!
We highly recommend Kanushree to anyone who wants both a beautiful performance and/or someone who will "pump up the crowd" and get everyone dancing!!

We have booked a group of dancers for my wedding who pulled out last minute, I was super stressed and when we reached out to Kanushree, she was super reassuring and responsive. Despite the last minute notice she still pulled together a dance set with the songs we wanted, performed beautifully, and had the entire wedding dancing for hours!! People were raving to me after about how I had the best wedding they'd ever been to and I guarantee it's because of her. She stayed way longer than our allotted time to ensure guests were engaged and dancing and not shy. Especially for non Indian guests, her experience as a dance teacher helped them feel comfortable loosening up and learning some easy moves. Thank you!!!!

About
Kanushree Jain grew up in New York City since the age of 2 but maintained her culture through Bollywood dance. She fell in love with dance at the age of 8 and learned on her own by replaying Bollywood music videos before formally studying Contemporary dance in college. She worked at Salsa studios around the city at the same time where she learned Latin dances too, like Salsa, Bachata, and Hustle to name a few. After college, she completed a rigorous dance training program at Broadway Dance Center where she focused on Ballet, Jazz, Tap. She is also a certified Zumba teacher, BodyArt instructor which is a functional training program. She is currently working on creating an online dance course that will help people get more in tune with their bodies.
Besides dance, Kanushree is also a SAG actress whose first acting gig was in 5th grade where she played the lead role of Cinderella. Since then, she has gone on to do many short films and commercials. She found home when she arrived at Stella Adler Acting Studio and studied acting, monologue, and voice over. Now she loves scripting her own content and posting it to her social media.

Influences & Inspiration
I am constantly learning and honing my craft by studying diverse dance traditions. My choreography tends to be a beautiful fusion of Indian classical, Contemporary and Sufi whirling with some sensuous movements to add.
