Overview
I'm a professional, fully insured, musician with 15 years experience. I play Irish fiddle and acoustic guitar as well as sing. I have a B.A. in Songwriting and Production from Berklee College of Music and an M.A. in Songwriting. I create loops on the acoustic guitar and then play Irish fiddle over top, as well as sing and use light percussion. I play weddings (Cocktail hours on fiddle as well as receptions), funerals, house calls and corporate shows in addition to pubs and festivals. I travel to Ireland yearly and have spent significant time performing in the pubs on the west coast of the Emerald Isle.

Finding Brandon was a stroke of incredible luck -- we are SO happy we booked with him!
We looked far and wide for wandering performers to help round out our vision for our Ren Faire-themed anniversary party -- and after finding Brandon's profile, we reached out to see if he would be willing to help this idea become reality. He was responsive, professional, thoughtful, and creative as we discussed, and he came up with a pitch for a crew of wandering musicians that ideally matched what we were looking for. We booked, feeling pretty confident everything would work well.
What a great decision; we were absolutely DELIGHTED by Brandon and his colleagues. They showed up on time, in costume, and got right to work providing a soundtrack to our day. They performed some together, and then spread out to provide entertainment all over the party grounds. Each performer individually was so talented and friendly, and our guests kept coming up to me to compliment their sound. Exactly our vision, and more!
Brandon was so easy to work with and he just "got" the party and our requests, and then he came through with a fabulous troupe full of great musicians. I'd book them again in a heartbeat!

Response from Brandon Kennedy - One man Irish pub band:
Was extremely fortunate to have been a part of Kelseys renn fair anniversary celebration. It was quite clear that they had put a ton of effort into this event from the moment I showed up. This was really one of those "this is why we do it" type gigs where the clients were great, the event was well run, and everything just went really smoothly. Wishing "the Ryans" many more anniversary celebrations. Thanks for having me and all the best. -Brandon

What to Expect
I'm a professional, fully insured, musician with 15 years of experience. I play Irish fiddle and acoustic guitar/sing. I have traveled to Ireland yearly to bring back authentic music from throughout the country and played many pubs and sessions both in the Emerald Isle and the U.S. I've also played multiple Renaissance fairs and have extensive experience busking/street performing. I have a B.A. in Songwriting and Production from Berklee College of Music and am currently pursuing a master's program.
I have full Scottish highland attire and multiple costumes to make the setting for your event perfect if you're looking for something outside of standard formal wear. I'm just as content to be center stage as background music, my ultimate goal is to see you happy. I love unique and challenging gigs so let me know your crazy ideas... I want to hear your biggest musical dream, and I want to make it happen.
What I do:
WEDDINGS: Do you have visions of elegant light strings playing as your guests are seated? A dream song you've always wanted to make your bridal walk to? I'm well familiar with performing for ceremonies, bridal walks, cocktail hours, and receptions, and adding violin as an accompaniment to first dance songs. Let me put together something perfect for your big day.
HOUSE PARTIES: I'd love to be a part of your gathering of family and friends. I've played neighborhood get-togethers, cultural nights, St Pats parties, birthdays, you name it. Nothing is more real than being able to bring authentic Irish music to your home, just like it's been played for hundreds of years. I can (and have!) be background music over dinner or as guests arrive, or put a special themed concert together for your special someone. I like to think of myself as a traveling Irish pub that will bring you whatever ambiance you're looking for, be it raucous or refined.
CORPORATE EVENTS: I can be ambient background music during presentations, a point of interest to impress clients, play at your grand opening, or put together a concert as thanks to your employees. I've done all of this both virtually and in person.
FUNERALS: If you have experienced the unfortunate loss of a loved one, it would be an honor to help you celebrate them as you lay them to rest. I have performed in both funeral homes and at gravesides and it is a service I offer with the utmost humility and respect.
COVERS: I've played as a house musician at both Martini bars and Vineyards for many years, playing contemporary music and covers on demand. My profile is directed at Irish Traditional music but I'm well able to perform more standard material if you'd like more modern/accessible music!
ENSEMBLES: If you're looking for a group or ensemble, I have a large network of other musicians I can bring to your event. Banjos, fiddlers, flutes, melodeons, guitarists, singers, bodhran, bouzouki...even Irish dancers!
LESSONS: I'm an experienced music teacher on both guitar, fiddle/violin, songwriting, and music theory. I've taught both in person and virtually using a host of platforms (Zoom, Skype, Facetime, etc).
What I am: I am organized, respectful, friendly, and on time. I am art-focused. Bringing you the music you need is my primary concern and I am always willing to work within your budget. You will be treated like a respected friend as I do everything I can to make your vision a reality. You will receive the service you expect of an experienced professional in their field while enjoying every part of the experience.
What I'm not: I am not a classically trained violinist who learned a couple of Irish tunes for diversity's sake. I'm an authentic Irish musician well-versed in the nuances of traditional Irish folk music. I do not show up 5 minutes before your event starts or let your emails sit in my inbox for weeks at a time before responding, you will receive timely coordination and a well-prepared musician.
Be bold, be kind, and safe travels...wherever your wandering takes you!
