What to Expect
Brett shows up with all the equipment necessary to put on a show, including all the necessary audio equipment. He'll need access to a wall outlet or two to power everything up, but other than that he will take care of everything. He performs solo, and most songs lean toward the folk/country/bluegrass genres. His original music is upbeat and can get a crowd rowdy, but don't expect a rave. If a larger group is needed for your event, please reach out as this might be accommodated.
About
Brett Dooley is an accomplished songwriter, singer, and multi-instrumentalist living in Tucson, AZ. Experimenting and growing throughout his music career, Brett has been a core performer in bands ranging from punk and hard rock to bluegrass, country and folk. As a singer, fans enjoy his energetic performances that carry the audience with him into the raw feelings of the songs.
Originally hailing from a small town in the farm country outside Kansas City, MO, Brett left the midwest for a decade of service in the US Navy. During these long years, Brett carved out time for music where he could. He found the laundry room of nuclear submarines an excellent practice room, and spent hours there playing a tiny traveler’s guitar while deployed. When he left the Navy, Brett immediately got to work on his music again, finding groups of like minded individuals to write and play with.
Years pass. Brett married and then became a father. As his life shifted and changed, Brett found that there were songs in his head that were much too personal to co-write with a band. Determined to realize his vision, he sat down with a guitar and a piano and began a journey that finally reached fruition 2 years later. Despite his musical history and influences, he wrote with no genre in mind. He focused on communicating feelings and raw emotions rather than a specific musical style.
Brett’s debut solo album, “The Long Road” is a summary of his life experiences condensed into 8 songs. He chose moments from his past that still resonate strongly in his mind today, re-immersed himself in those memories, and wrote the essence of those emotions into songs. The resulting album is a single story told in 8 chapters, each different than those preceding it, but still coming from the same voice and the same history.
Additional Booking Notes
Brett will provide all equipment, except the physical stage and the electricity. As such, please have an idea of where in the venue you want Brett to setup, and make sure that there are outlets within 25-50 feet of that location. All other equipment will be provided.
