Cane Creek String Band is Charleston SC Traditional Appalachian old time string band ! A high energetic, talented group made up of 4 Musicians who have a combined music experience of over 60 years! Voted 2018 one of The Top 5 bluegrass bands by Charleston City Paper Readers! They are spreading the rich in history sound of Old Time Appalachian Music through the low country with strong instrumental work, singing, and hard driving foot stomping rhythm.

Fiddle Player:
(Ms. Booker) is a self-taught fiddler who only discovered her love of traditional Appalachian and Irish music after graduating from college, when she began playing for contra dances. A former member of Donnybrook Legacy, she has attended numerous fiddle workshops and festivals in the US and abroad, including the Augusta Heritage Festival, Swannanoa Gathering and Willie Clancy Week. She also spent four months traveling and playing in the west of Ireland. A strong proponent of learning traditional music “by ear,” Ms. Booker currently leads an Irish session in Charleston and offers private lessons for adult beginning fiddlers
Guitar & Vocals
Lane Gregory has been playing guitar and singing in the Charleston area for over 8 years. Her ancestors sailed into Charleston in the 1700's and then settled into Asheville, NC. Old Time Mountain music she feels is in her DNA for it is rich in her family history. Her Great Grandfather played in an old time rag band and the tradition was carried down to many other family members. Lane is self taught guitar player and started playing folk, bluegrass, Americana. Her Vocals are unique and you will hear that Celtic,Irish, Appalachian sound that comes out naturally. She has played with many area bands and was one of the winners of the Charleston Green Fair singing/ song writers contest in (link hidden)e has played with many well known musicians jamming at countless Appalachian old time festivals. She also plays old time fiddle.
Stand Up bass & Vocals
Gina Perez found her love for music and old time 9 years ago and picked up the fiddle. Over the past 4 years she has been finding a love for the stand up bass. She has played in many bands in the Charleston area with well known accomplished musicians. She played bass and fiddle in the Butterbeans with Charleston's Cary Ann Hurst. Her Puerto Rican & Cuban background gives her a great sense of the rhythm that comes naturally for her. She puts soul into her bass playing to round out the bands hard driving old time rhythm.
