My preferred genre is soft rock and country music. I play guitar and sing. I will provide an easy listening (not too loud!) experience for your event, which will allow for conversation among your guests while listening to classic, nostalgic tunes that withstand the test of time.
Cap'n Jack came to one of our retirement facilities. He was professional. He engaged the audience. He had planned his program well. He was a pleasure to work with....we would have him back again.
Captain Jack isn’t only a very talented man, but he’s got a heart of gold. At a time when many folks stayed away from skilled nursing facilities due to concerns over Covid, Captain Jack was there for our residents. Like a trooper he went along with our ever changing policies so he could show up for our residents. Our residents love him, we love him. Anyone would be lucky to have him perform at their event.
Great performance enjoyed by all! Cap'n Jack is very good with our residents. He is professional om set up and entertainment. He keeps our residents engaged during his performances playing a wide range of music! Highly recommended!
I’ve had the pleasure of seeing Cap’n Jack play a few sets before and he’s been incredible every time. I love that he’s not limited to a genre, he’ll give you a nice variety of music he plays. His playing is always great and he’ll have the whole room listening, enjoying and singing along with him. You’re in for a good time with Cap’n Jack performing and I can’t recommend him enough!
I have seen Cap’n Jack play parties on numerous occasions. He always leaves his guests wanting more. Great act for family and friends. He plays everything from classic rock and folk songs to country, to old Irish ☘️ songs my family was raised on. If you want to sing along, Cap’n Jack does not disappoint! I would highly recommend him for your next event! Invite me… I’d love to see him perform again!
My family has a memorial day bbq every year and we have had the pleasure of Cap'n Jack performing at most of them. He is extremely talented and plays a wide range of music. We receive more compliments for Jack's playing then we do for the food. We would highly recommend Cap' n Jack to anyone.
I played extensively with Jack in the 1970s and was fortunate to reconnect with him a few years ago and gig with him. It was like turning back the clock. Jack’s range of musical styles is tremendous, he has command of several instruments, and most notably his vocal range seemed as impressive as it was decades ago.
Easy to work with, fun to play with, and he knows how to please a crowd.
Price Range: $150 and up

You can expect a laid-back program. I have bad legs, so I will be sitting down when I play. Generally, I will just sing while I play the acoustic guitar. However, I have recorded additional song tracks on my own with bass guitar, electric piano, electric drums, and background vocals. This allows me to occasionally play these recorded background tracks while I add in the electric guitar and vocal harmony in person.
I recently retired from a long career in banking. I love music; it has always been a hobby of mine since I started with an accordion at the age of 10, and then guitar when I was 14. As a kid, my first love was the Beatles, but that rapidly expanded to include just about everything pop and rock. Later, I developed an interest in country music, including classic and contemporary.
In my 20's I played in a rock band with friends back in Brooklyn. We played a few high school dances, block parties, and clubs before life took us on career journeys, and we went our separate ways.
For years I only dabbled with the guitar at home on my own, but over the last 3 years, I began playing for a couple of nursing homes (The Menlo Park Home for Veterans in Menlo Park, NJ, and Whitestone nursing home in Stroudsburg, PA). In addition, I have played at many friends and relatives' holiday parties - Memorial Day, St. Patrick's Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, and Christmas.
Now that I have the time, I would like to bring my musical talents to more people and to supplement my income along the way. My guitar playing is usually a simple rhythm pattern. I believe vocals are my strongest point.
I will need some type of shelter from wet weather if I am playing outdoors. I will need some type of lighting if I am playing at night so I can read my music sheets and see the guitar. I will not be able to perform outdoors if the weather is too cold - say below 55 degrees. I have my own amplifier/speaker, microphone and guitar stands, and electrical extension cords.
