A seasoned performer, Queen Micheline Nyanza started performing again in 2002, recording her first album in NY. Singing in English, Creole, Spanish and various African dialects, she has graced stages all over the world with her unique blend of song, dance and cabaret style flare. By 2003 she was touring all over the Caribbean, included the Bahamas, Trinidad & Tobago, Africa, and her own native Haiti. Coming back to the USA she played the Miami Carnival, and a host of New York and New Jersey venues, including Manhattan City Hall celebration, the City Of Orange, NJ’s summer fest, and NYC’s Haitian Flag Day.
When she relocated to sunny California, she formulated her current band Caribbean Breeze, and
immediately began entrancing audiences! Now known as Queen Micheline Nyanza & Caribbean Breeze, she boasts an nine piece international Haitian-Soca-Salsa-Reggae-Calypso-World Beat Band. Looking more like a mini United Nations, her band mates span the globe. Holding down the bottom is a talented Haitian bassist, a guitarist from Jamaica, a power house drummer, slick conga player, a female saxophone player (ironically all three from Detroit) all flanked by a bevy of international back-up singers.
Queen Micheline Nyanza has Queen Micheline Nyanza has recently performed in such venues as UCLA’s Fowler Museum concerts, Stage 52, The Electric Lounge and The Barbara Morrison Performing Arts Center in the famed Leimert Park, the Industry Cafe, the Herb Alpert Performing Art Center, as well as numerous festivals, including “Carnival”, various Black History Month fests, just to name a few.
“Queen Micheline Nyanza & Caribbean Breeze”, is a fantastic Haitian-Caribbean show not to be missed!
