Caribbean Vibe Steel Drum Band was awesome! Professional to work with and very talented. Was perfect for my client’s Caribbean themed 100th birthday block party. They sang an array of songs and “Caribbean-ized” them all. Highly recommend!

Very professional and was on time!

I used Gig Salad over one month ahead to get bids for my event yesterday. I corresponded with Duane and saw the video of Caribbean Vibe Steel Drum Band from the Today show which I felt was very impressive. Great communication with Duane. Based on what I saw and heard and on the pricing I hired "them", meaning the Caribbean Vibe Steel Drum Band. Upon payment and confirming the particulars about setup and how much space was needed, etc... I was told that it was not "them" but one person would perform based on the size of my event. That felt a little like "bait and switch" since I had watched the video of THE BAND and hired THE BAND but since it was paid and confirmed I expected Duane to perform 6/20. Here's where it gets really good!!!! Performer arrived early, very well-prepared and he looked great! I reached out to shake his hand and said "Hi Duane!" to which he replied oh "No, I'm Ray!" I guess I gave him a puzzled and disappointed look! I had hired Duane.

30 minutes later Ray quietly asked me why I was disappointed when he said he was Ray. As I started to tell him it was because I hired Duane, it immediately dawned on me that he was actually Ray from (redacted) who had also bid on my gig (and that had been super communicative and great to deal with but he only had a video from 2017 for me to go by). He did not get the job... Duane did!
The one star rating is for Caribbean Vibe Steel Drum Band because Duane was deceptive.

He was a consummate professional! I would definitely have them at my parties.

We really enjoyed Caribbean Vibe! The steel drums were the perfect addition to our event. The guys were fun and pleasant and definitely helped the "vibe".

The baby shower had an underwater theme, and the steel drum player was a surprise. It was better than expected - made it a phenomenal experience for all!

We held a Caribbean dinner for a large group of seniors, and this added a perfect touch! Music was wonderful, performer was very accommodating to the ongoing requests of the audience to lower and raise the volume based upon what was happening at the time. I would hire again for sure.

Duane Scott from the Caribbean Steel Drum Vibe was a huge hit at our Clambake dinner last night. He set the perfect tone and rhythm for the event. He was all set up on time, very personable, even sang and played a couple other instruments that he brought along. Many of our guests commented to me how much they enjoyed him and the music. They were very easy to work with, made regular follow up calls, and had a good sense of humor. I would highly recommend them if you want a fun, festive event.

We booked Caribbean Vibe Steel Drum Band for the opening of our new building. Very professional, interactive and fun - they brought such a nice vibe!

Duane and his band were wonderful. They provided an evening of music for our annual Cultural Day event. Duane was professional, friendly, organized, and amazing to work with during our event. I booked this group for my wedding a year ago. Since then I have had multiple repeated conversations with the band leader, emphasizing certain details, and a month before the wedding he still was unclear about them. He didn’t even understand that it was for a wedding. He even thought that the band was unavailable that day because they were booked to a different event.

Come day of the wedding (yesterday), the band leader was not even present. The band itself arrived late, and did not know how to operate their own PA system. They spent over an hour trying to hook up a tangle of wires, while my 120 guests stood by awkwardly watching and waiting.

After they played some music from a smart phone (why am I paying $2675 for a steel drum band when they just play music from a phone?), it was time for the ceremony to begin. They did not have the song the bride requested to walk down the aisle. So they tried to download it…again, to a smart phone. And then they attempted to hold a microphone to the phone to pick up the sound.

The few numbers that the band actually played from their instruments did come out nicely, but they needed prompting and cueing to begin playing every single time. As a professional, you are required to understand when to begin playing immediately during transitions; after a speech, after the ceremony ends, during meal times, etc. This band knew none of these things and there were several long awkward silences.

At times the band just played songs from a phone or laptop, while they drank my beer and ate my food (they never obtained permission to do this). Why did I pay $2675 just to have someone play music from a phone?

I would never recommend such an unprofessional and amateur group to any venue, large or small.

Caribbean vibe steal drum band did such an amazing job! They came right on time with enough time to set up for my cocktail hour, everything was perfect. Would definitely use again for any party I have. Paired perfectly with my cigar roller!

Oh my goodness these guys sounded amazing. I missed cocktail hour while taking pictures but I heard how awesome they sounded. They even allowed my nephew to play a little on the steel pan, and that was a precious moment since my late father bought him a steel pan before he passed. It was absolutely perfect and my guests enjoyed!!

The musicians assigned to my event arrived 30 plus minutes late and rushed to set up, as we had a schedule and an arrival time for the guest of honor's arrival. They were not able to play "pomp and circumstance" as I had requested during the booking. They seem to not have any knowledge of the music at all, or of my request. They went on to play quite well and switched to a more rapid calypso style of music at my request half hour or so before they were due to leave, which was another misunderstanding. They attempted to leave at the original time of 6:30 and I had to remind them they arrived and started LATE!!! Upon booking I was assured, musicians would arrive early to set up, commence playing promptly at 3:30 to 6:30. They played approximately 4:30 to 7:00. They took up part of the playing time to set up!!! (Utterly Absurd!!!) At the end of the time, I asked them to play one additional song which they declined, explaining they had already started to disconnect their equipment. I spent a good amount of money because I expected quality, punctuality and professionalism. They were pleasant for the most part and the guest enjoyed the music; however, I was underwhelmed because the sequence of events was off! I wanted the element of grand surprise for my son's entrance to his surprise graduation party and it was a complete bust!!! They started to play maybe 5-7 minutes after his arrival. I am getting more and more infuriated as I am writing this review because I am reliving the MEDIOCRE but EXPENSIVE experience all over again!!! I have had other vendors to my events and have NEVER experienced such DISAPOINTMENT!

Caribbean Vibe Steel Drum Band played at our house when we got married. They did a great job. Easy on our end. They came and set up and played. Very likeable. Got great feedback from our crowd.

Arrived early, seamlessly setup, played beautiful music exactly to the tastes of an older crowd, and then insisted on staying a little longer and playing extra tunes for us! Was amazing. Finally had to shoo them off the stage, since they were having so much fun playing for us. But they had another gig somewhere else and I had some high school students waiting to get on stage to perform. Even though the students were more than happy to continue hearing from Caribbean Vibe, we playfully changed out the sets. It was an incredibly joyous and fun experience! We all had fun.

I got the one man and performed by Mike. He was exceptional. He played great music and was also very professional. Mike is an exceptional person with rich experience and truly loves what he does and it shows through his music and kind, gentle character. I would definitely hire him again. This was for a small gathering at my house.

The Caribbean Vibe Steel Drum Band performed as advertised without a doubt. The band’s music was the critical element required to push our employee event over the top. I believe that the Caribbean Vibe Steel Drum Band was able to make everyone feel like they were on a Caribbean Island down by the beach with their favorite drink and a light breeze. I can’t wait to schedule another event that I can use The Caribbean Vibe Steel Drum Band.

We hired Caribbean Vibe for an outdoor grand opening event and they were absolutely fantastic! When our ribbon cutting ceremony took a touch longer than expected they made sure to stay on and still give a great, full performance. I would absolutely work with them again and you should too!

These guys gave us just what we needed…island vibe so everyone could forget about the troubles in the world for a few hours. They brought with them humid hot island temperatures but it all made perfect sense! The sound was great and everyone had only compliments about the band. Would use them again in a heartbeat. ~elena

The booking process was so easy and they were very polite and efficient. We had the Caribbean Vibe band for a small cocktail party after a few days of offsite work planning and everyone LOVED it. Just what they needed after 3 days of hard focus work.

They kept our guests entertained, had a great attitude and were very talented. Anyone who can get assisted living residents dancing is playing good music!
