- $125/hr. for a two hour minimum
Overview
I draw funny, entertaining caricatures that you will remember forever! My goal is to make you (and everyone around you) laugh out loud, as I draw out the funny, AND make it look like you! I have been drawing caricatures for about 15 years, and am available to draw at all types of events, from the smallest backyard birthday party to the biggest company bash! I can also draw caricatures from photos, using both traditional and digital media, and am skilled in illustration/cartooning/character design, having been trained at School of Visual Arts in NYC. Currently, I live in the City of Brotherly Love, Philadelphia, and am available to travel to events within the Philadelphia region, and beyond!

We decided instead of wasting money on little trinkets no one cares about, our wedding favor to our guests — and for added entertainment— was having John sketch a caricature of them during our reception. This was such a huge hit! We had so much fun with this and seeing everyone’s work of art! John always had someone in his seat all night and usually had a crowd gathered around just for the fun of watching his artistry and for tons of laughs! We are eternally grateful for your services 🤗

What to Expect
Clients can expect a fun, charismatic, and exciting way to liven up any event and to keep the smiles and laughs coming. My caricatures are detailed and expressive and draw out the 'character' in each person - no generic, formulaic drawings here - I strive to give my caricature drawings as much personality as the person sitting in front of me.
About
I have been drawing since I was a child, and have been drawing caricatures since 1997. I worked at Six Flags Great Adventure in Jackson, NJ, and have been drawing at parties, and all types of events, including festivals and fairs, since then. Clients and event planners can expect an energetic, fun personality who loves conversing and engaging with his customers, as much as he loves drawing them silly, cute, and funny. I am always prompt, and can set up very quickly, as all I need is my easel, a couple chairs, and space to set up in. You can expect a guaranteed fun and exciting time when I draw at your event, and one that you won't soon forget! I can draw approximately 12 color caricatures an hour, and 15-20 black and white faces an hour.
Additional Booking Notes
I require minimal set-up for my performance - enough space for my aluminum tripod easel, which isn't much, at least three comfortable chairs without arm rests or wheels, preferably, and proximity to an outlet to plug in my easel lamp if need be.

Influences & Inspiration
Working at Six Flags Great Adventure was a very important experience in learning how to draw people of widely varying ages, ethnicities, and cultural backgrounds, and the full spectrum of personality types we all share. There were many more experienced caricaturists drawing live whom I was influenced by, and whose attention to each customer in the creation of their caricature and the interaction they had with them proved to be influential on my own approach as well. I am also influenced by editorial and comic strip illustrators, the great MAD Magazine caricaturists and cartoonists, classic animation (and animation inspired by classic styles), and underground/alternative comic artists.
Setup Requirements
Electrical outlet, 3-4 chairs without wheels or armrests, shade if outdoors
