Im available to draw caricatures at any event. Many people have told me how much my caricatures look the actual person. I can do a really flattering drawing or outrageous drawing.
I also draw “Pop-Art Portraits”, or what some people call comic-book style portraits similar to the style of retro comics. I am inspired by vintage pop art and have worked for years to emulate that style.
With either style I strive to capture each individual. I don’t draw people in a mechanical/formulaic style for the sake of quantity.

Roger did a great job with our small birthday party. He was able to fit in a lot of detail and requests for everyone and they were all delighted with the outcome.
We had a great experience with Roger doing caricatures for our guests at my husbands 50th Bday party. He arrived on time , set up , and immediately started working. Right before he was ending his session he made it a point to look for my husband and I to make sure we got one done before he left. I appreciated his thoughtfulness . All our guests were happy and complimented how excellent he captured their likeness.

Roger showed up to my birthday party early to ensure that he could start at the exact time I had booked. He did a great job with everyone's caricatures, and also made sure he got to everyone before leaving. He was definitely a hit with the whole crowd!

This was our first time hiring someone as in-booth entertainment and I searched long and hard before I decided to go with Roger. Roger was extremely professional from the beginning to the end of this whole process and made this a breeze, allowing me to focus on other parts of the event.
When the event day finally came, I was running around and completely forgot to check in with Roger, luckily he was on top of everything and showed up right on time. His caricatures were very spot on and everyone loved having their caricature portraits drawn by Roger. He was engaging, funny, and very fast with each portrait. This is inaccurate, this client mis-communicated about their event . I had asked and cleared it with them about the possibility of starting a little earlier and they said yes. I did this because I had another event request. So I booked the other event, because I really need the income. She then changes her mind long after the fact about starting early, totally disregarding what we discussed. She had plenty of time and opportunity to let me know she didnt want to change the time. We then worked it out and I arrived at the event very early, but because the entire event was not properly planned they got their dinner service started late. And since we agreed to shorten my time, I had to get going when my time was up. Thats how it works, when times up, I pack up. but they kept wanting me to keep drawing after the end time. Oh and they still loved their drawings, so how is this a 1 star review? Notice, she doesn't give much clarification about what happened. Its not my fault their event was badly planned, and don't get to dump the blame on me for everything going wrong. And a person who doesn't eve know me doesn't get to be the judge of my social skills. Simply being impatient, if that was true doesn't qualify as a 1 star. This review has been disputed on Gigsalad.

I took a chance in hiring an artist for my party online, without meeting in person. What a pleasant surprise!! Seriously, He was the BEST character artist I have seen! Each of 30 guests actually looked like their sketch. Well worth the money as this was the hit of the party. He offered black and white or colored sketches. I ordered the black and white because of the time crunch. It takes awhile to get through the guest line. I will hire Roger in the future.

I arrive usually 20-30 minutes early to setup my drawing area. When I am a ready to draw I usually draw people first come first serve. My drawings can be done in any theme requested and can be either black and white or color. Please keep in mind if purchaser/event planner wants themes and/or color on each drawing, I will be drawing much less per than if I was just drawing black and white faces.
I tend to use a high quality 11 x 17 inch paper and I have drawn up to 8 faces on one sheet. If a bigger group drawing is desired, please request early on so I can get appropriate supplies in advance.
If a break is needed, I will always draw for the full time that was quoted for the hourly rate, even if I stay later than originally requested to complete the full drawing time.
I have been drawing Caricatures since 2003, having spent several years drawing at major theme parks such as Knott's Berry Farm and Universal Studios Hollywood. I have drawn thousands of caricatures of people from all over the world. I have also drawn at many local fairs and festivals such as the Long Beach Lobster Festival. I have also drawn gift caricatures for Engineers and Executives at Toyota motor company for 7 years.
If the event is to take place at night, I would need to be in vicinity of an electrical outlet for my lights or be provided with sufficient lighting at the event.
