Caricatures by Gene

Gene was very personable, my guests loved their caricatures! He was a wonderful addition to my kids duo St. Patrick’s Day Birthday Party.

Gene was on time for the event, was set up and ready to go, and was able to accommodate the need to "float" from person to person to draw a picture of them while they painted a picture of their own! He did black and white for the guests and did a color drawing for the guests of honor!

Gene does a great job capturing the moment. Highly recommend.

Gene was lovely. Taught 5 girls cartoon drawing and there were lots of giggles! The caricatures were really good too. He was on time and easy to work with. Highly recommend!

Gene did an amazing job at our New Year's Eve party, even when the power went out! He was personable and kind and shared his experiences and stories with us all. Once our power went out, he shared that he had drawn in the dark at a club in Alameda and could continue working, people absolutely loved it, and his drawings were great. I will definitely hire him again!

Gene communicated well. He showed up on time. He was amenable to putting a label with our company logo onto each drawing. This was way more fun and a whole lot nicer than a photo booth. However, Gene didn't wear his beard to the party! He came clean shaved.

It was a great day with Gene, he was very patient with the big crowd of kids and adults. One of our cousins was so impressed she might be taking one of his classes he offers.

Gene was a treat! He showed up early for our event which included drawing several caricatures for a team event. He was easy to talk to, and produced a quality work product. I appreciated the time he spent with us.

I hired Gene with very little notice. Not only was he quick to respond but also showed up early, was flexible and a real pro. In the event industry so much relies upon customer service delivery. Gene delivered. Highly recommend!

Gene came early to make sure he was on time. He kept the first arrivers happy until most of the kids arrived by teaching them how to draw animals. All the kids were paying close attention. The party was mostly for 8 year old girls. Then he began to draw portraits of the kids--and a lot of portraits of the kids and their parents. He describes his drawing as caricatures made to look positive. I describe them a portraits with simple lines. They were not complete likenesses, but they were enough of a likeness to please. Gene was professional and flexible. It was a successful and unique way for us to add entertainment at our party.

Gene was busy the whole time. The senior graduates were enjoying having their Caricatures drawn and a great memento for Grad night.

From the start, I was impressed with Gene. He was the only person to put forward an affordable quote and he was a good communicator from jump. He double-checked the time and logistics with me which I appreciated. Gene arrived on time with all of his supplies. He was flexible with the flow of the night (we had about 150 people come and go). I had alllll kinds of people at my event- all races, genders, no gender, ages etc and he drew everyone with ease. Some folks definitely now have their cartoon image as their profile picture on Facebook lol! Thank you Gene for coming to my birthday party! You're a great guy!

Today was a double birthday party for my daughters. I wanted to do something different for entertainment and decided to get a caricaturist. I went on Gigsalad and selected an “instant” booking which meant that Gigsalad would select my caricaturist for me. I was super happy and satisfied with Gene as our caricaturist. He arrived well in advance (which was perfect for me) and was very kind, professional, and patient with my guests. He was quick to set up - rolled out his pencils, pens, and notepad and was drawing away! His drawings are not the typical “street” caricature prints you would find going down a touristy neighborhood like Fisherman’s Wharf in San Francisco. His drawings were more like cartoons you would find as animations. I loved it!

Gene not only was early to setup, he was willing to help. He made everyone feel relaxed and calm when doing the drawings. People loved his humor and his speed. As the hiring manager for the event, he was over communicative and confirmed several times of the event.

Gene traveled 3 hours each way for Chico High School's Sober Grad Night and worked all night drawing great caricatures for our graduates! Everything about his work was great!! Thanks, Gene!!

It was a fun addition to our birthday party

Gene was very prompt on all communications leading up to the event. His rates were very reasonable. He arrived ahead time, was flexible to our needs, drew lovely caricatures and taught 8, 9-year-olds how to draw animation creatures. They had a lot of fun with Gene..I'd highly recommend him!

Gene was responsive to all emails and answered quickly. He is very professional and showed up at the exact time he was supposed to. Everyone had such a great time, getting drawn as a caricature, he made our party very enjoyable. Gene is so talented he drew everyone in 3 min ! We had 60 people over for my daughter’s engagement party. Everyone got a caricature and enjoyed their interaction with Gene. Gene went above and Beyond to make this a fun time for all. We had young and old. Gene was great with all!

I hired Gene to be a caricaturist at my moms surprise dinner party. I wanted something different that would really be a conversation piece so I decided that a caricaturist was a great option. I saw Genes’ work and I was beyond impressed he was such an amazing person to work with and had just the sweetest heart and personality. Everyone loved him & was super impressed.
