Carolyna Lovely draws on her life experiences and extensive touring
to produce a maturity of sound sharpened by 25 years of performing live.

Solo shows see Lovely pulling it down to a guitar and vocal in a singer-songwrier mode and has performed clubs and festivals around the world in this mode. She sings sweetness into your heart and then belts "love me" into your face.

Carolyna has worked the planet from the streets to the theatres and festivals of the world and played with some of the great musicians that have session'd for the big-sellers. These players join her when not on tour with the likes of Willie Nelson, Lucinda Williams, Bonnie Raiit, Dan Lanois...

"The band starts out all sweet and acoustic and by the end of the show I'm tearing into a jam with the boys where they shine as the fabulous musicians they are and I ride in that space of fan/guitarist until its my turn to let it rip in the closing. I adore the jam once the show has been rocking along. Its great to start out with a calm introduction to the material and then kick it up a notch or three before the set is done. Ideally, I like to play one, two hour set and ride the sound from calm to climax, as much a fan of the band as a performer in it. In clubs we'll do a one hour set, break to meet fans and sign merchandise, then return for another hour or so. By that time we are wiped and oh so happy."

Since 1993, when the internet became pervasive infrastructure, Carolyna has been releasing singles from studio recordings and live shows around the world.
Lovely has amassed fans, internationally, by touring and releasing albums and singles for more than 20 years - maintaining a constant online presence during promotional periods and an almost reclusive disappearance in the downtime.
Carolyna draws on her life experiences and extensive travels to produce a maturity of sound sharpened by 30+ years of live performance.

Lovely is in pre-production for another full album, 'In Lovely Company', an acoustic album full of soulful groove and country-blues numbers carolyna wrote but could not record in 2021 due to an infection that took her voice away for more than half the year. Her friends, in a few different countries, are recording her songs for her.
The songs are some of Carolyna's favourites, and she looks forward to singing them with these friends when her voice allows.

The mood of Lovely's upcoming release is confident and upbeat in as many places as it is brooding and soul revealing - stories that gently nod toward the love affair of a lifelong romantic and all that passion entails. Original, driving rhythms sit beside the sparsely arranged murder-ballad and it all just works.

The masterful accompaniment that musicians from three continents contribute to this recording make this album one of Lovely's all time favourites.

Carolyna speaks about the fine-tuning of writing and recording and states:

“It's a natural progression to mature artistically if you simply keep
writing and performing. Like the best things in life, both the songs
and the live performance get better with age. As I get older and
play the shows I want to play instead of the ones I had to play to
get here, the stories of my life get better, so naturally, they get
better in my songs. Putting them down in an album is the easy part
now - the entire sound is written before I hit record.”

Not being one to play in cover or clone bands, Carolyna played the small rooms that welcomed full original sets until the recordings started to spread. She worked the planet from the streets to the theatres and festivals of the world and played with some of the great musicians that have session'd for the big-sellers. It has been a consistent ride of do-it-yourself duties, acting as label, agent, manager - sometimes even road manager to 5 bandmates - and now publisher. Carolyna has had a number of placements in indie films, t.v., commercials, and internet campaigns. Lovely now gives usage of her music to other Independent artists making short films and promo ads, to use in their YouTube clips. Ever the indie-supporter, Carolyna offers specials to independent artists while producing their demos and live-album recordings at Bedrock. Extra huge discounts are given to indie artists that record one of her songs for their album.

We are not big Rider gluttons, but do prefer to have:
A case of Molson Canadian and a bottle of Jack Daniels, and some fabulous waters handy... and a nice place to entertain post show and for the manager to work from. Carolyna drinks honey & lemon in hot water, and Cacao & Chilli before a show - if you would provide a kettle, two lemons, some fine dark chocolate and a nice local honey it would be very welcome.
Food:
We like a colourful fruit plate (no melon excepting watermelon) in the band room before/after show, 12 bottles of water on the stage, and a nice meal just after soundcheck for band and crew.
