Our classical woodwind quintet sound of flute, oboe, clarinet, French horn and bassoon is bright and elegant, and yet unique! Our trio and duo bring in the resonance of a cello with flute, oboe and/or violin filling out the sound. Cascade Sounds Quintet, Trio and Duo performs for weddings, parties, concerts and other special events. In addition to classical and baroque, our repertoire includes elements of folk and traditional music, and we can arrange your favorite song or piece at your request. We are top-caliber professional musicians who bonded together by performing in orchestras and theaters throughout the Pacific Northwest.
We were pleased to hire the Cascade Sounds Trio for our Anniversary party event. The music was delightful, a lively mix of classical and modern selections, and we heard many compliments from our guests! The Trio artistically blended our musical requests, including songs from our wedding, with the classical pieces they had prepared. Kate Johnson is easy to work with, very professional, punctual, and accommodating. I highly recommend this ensemble for your special event!
Cascade Sounds Duo (flute and cello), led by Kate Johnson, graced our charity event for Sacred Heart Shelter in spring 2023 with their delightful live music performance. They delivered a combination of classics requested by the event organizer along with their own well-chosen selections, which included an Irish jig. The crowd reaction was overwhelmingly positive! Our event would not have been as successful without Kate & co. Moreover, Kate was very easy to work with--she was responsive, detail oriented and client-focused. I would hire Cascade Sounds Duo again....They are a solid choice!

I had the pleasure of booking Puget Sounds Quintet for a small commencement ceremony of around 44 students and their guests in December 2019. I needed to find a musician on short notice with a tight budget. I put out an advertisement and Kate Johnson of Puget Sounds Quintet responded almost immediately with a clear and affordable quote. I found her to be friendly, kind and extremely professional throughout the entire process.
Kate showed a sincere willingness to find solutions to the specifics of our event and responded quickly to my questions. She was able to help advise us about the musical program. We required the Quintet to play a graduation march a short prelude and postlude. Kate was able to offer some great suggestions for music and created an excellent arrangement of pomp and circumstance for our ceremony. The Puget Sounds Quintet showed up on time for the event and was able to follow our program with little need for direction. They brought the equipment they needed with them and set up/broke down efficiently.
The Quintet really helped set a lovely tone more than appropriate for our event. I would highly recommend Kate Johnson and Puget Sounds Quintet for any event.
We used Puget Sounds Quintet and Trio for our retirement party on December 1, 2018. We booked about 5 months in advance after finding their promotion through Musicians Association of Seattle. Arranging all our details in advance, Kate Johnson was great to work with. They arrived early, setup and the rest was music to my ears. Everyone loved our choice of professional musicians even finishing off with a vocalist the last half hour! I would truly recommend using Puget Sounds Quintet and Trio for your event.
