Overview
Cathy Alonzo String Entertainment can provide instrumental music for every occasion. Our groups include solo violin, violin/guitar duos, violin/cello duos, string trios, flute trios, string quartets and string quartets with guitar.
From corporate events, memorial services, weddings, parties and more, we cater our music to your venue. We work very closely with our clients to make sure all their needs are meet, and offer a wide array of music and are happy to take special requests. With many years of experience and a very large selection of music, let us help make your event something special to remember for years to come!

Cathy and her players were a delight to work with. They were easy to communicate with, flexible about planning and scheduling, and most importantly gave us a great performance. We really appreciated how straightforward they made song selection and how they were able to read the room so they knew when to play different pieces for the ceremony and reception.

We had a lot of details, unique pieces, last minute changes and even instrument (organ) challenges that all tried to stand in the way of what ended up being a very enjoyable and beautiful liturgy. All our guests (especially the couple of honor) commented on how much they enjoyed the liturgical music as well as how much they liked that the pieces we chose which were not what they were used to but still very beautiful. Cathy and her ensemble did a fantastic job and our family looks forward to working with her again!

From the very start Cathy was wonderful to work with. She went above and beyond...more than willing to play an instrument not her own. We surprised my 96 year old mother for her birthday and Cathy gave her the delight of her heart.... lifting her in a melodious memory carrying her 90 years into the past as she heard her daddy's violin sing again.... yielding to Cathy's gifted hands. We were all thrilled. Thank you!

Paul & Cathy provided a guitar & violin duo for my wedding ceremony & reception cocktail hour. Their song selection has a huge range of music which was perfect for our eclectic taste. We offer a very large range of musical selections, from classical, Irish, fiddle, pop and rock pieces, and are perfect for any number of venues, whether large or small. We offer elegant entertainment for any occasion.
About
Cathy Alonzo String Entertainment include musicians Cathy Alonzo/Violin & Viola, Sharon Nauman/Cello, Beth Chiarenza/Violin, Chrystal Smothers/Violin, Scotty Spenner/Guitar and Lauren Dowd-Erickson/Flute. All of our members are professional musicians and hold degrees on their prospective instruments and not only have many years of experience of playing throughout the United States and Europe, but can be currently seen playing with various professional groups throughout the Phoenix Metro area. We work closely with our clients to make sure that even the smallest details are taken care of, and are more than happy to take special requests from our clients. We are perfect for all venues, and can offer amplification if needed. Please feel free to contact us with any questions, we are happy to help!
Additional Booking Notes
Our players must be placed in shade as to not damage their instruments and generally set up approx. 30-45 minutes prior to the event for a sound check. Heaters must be provided by the client if performance area drops below 60 degrees. Amplification can be arranged as well and should be requested at the time of the quote. Clients will provide one armless chair per musician hired.
