I'm a solo act doing a mix of original compositions, long-form improvisation, and covers of popular songs. Drum machine, looper pedal, keyboard, guitar and vocals all come together to create a full band experience, but it's just me. All of my arrangements are live looped, and no two shows will sound exactly the same.
I have about 1000 songs I can play, enabling me to take requests. The vibe can be adjusted to suit any sort of room or gathering.
Additionally, I have access to other musicians. If you'd prefer real drums, or even a full band, please reach out.

- Songs tend to run about 10-15 minutes and evolve as I play them. This makes it excellent background music for dining or drinking, interesting enough to pay attention to, but unobtrusive enough to have a conversation over. Excellent for gatherings or venues that cannot support a full band.
- I can plug into your PA, or bring my own system.
- I combine singing, guitar and keyboards with a number of effect pedals and a looper to create live interpretations of songs, both my originals as well as a vast library of covers. I use a drum machine to create more of a live band sound, including easy long jams and upbeat music good for dancing.
- I am very improvisational, and almost never play the same song the same way twice.
- I am able to take requests of popular songs in a live setting, and can learn more obscure songs if asked in advance.
- I can play for 4 hours maximum (including short breaks).
Char Baba has been performing for 25 years. He learned the trumpet in high school and fell in love with music. He attended Berklee College of Music in the early 2000s with an emphasis on Songwriting. During that time he stopped playing trumpet in favor of stringed instruments, as these were more conducive to writing and solo performance.
Since then he has spent two decades performing and writing, both solo as well as in various ensembles.
I don't need much.
- If there is no house PA, I can bring my own.
- If electricity is not available, I can run on batteries, although having someplace to plug in is simpler.
Being a solo act, I'm very flexible. I can work inside or outside and in much smaller and intimate spaces than a full band would be able to handle.

Most of my work is improvisational, but I can do a wide range of covers from classic rock to current pop hits. I can even take requests on stage, which is always a hit at a bar or party.
