Charmaine Evonne

Charmaine Evonne is a very engaging performer. While consciously cautious because of the nature of the flame, she loves to encourage audience interaction, banter, and "getting up-close and personal" when fire eating. Her dance is high-energy, down-to-business flow that combines a history of jazz, tumbling, ballet, martial arts, tap, burlesque, tribal and bellydance into a truly unique movement fusion. "Don't go out!" audience members cry, often at the end of her fan dance. Children love her, and there is little else in performing that tops the wonder in a wee one's eyes when they see a fire artist for the first time...she loves sparking the interest of aspiring performers as well and does her best to make herself accessible to the crowd for Q&A time after each show (if it is allowed by the venue). Her performance time is very flexible; longer shows or shorter are all within her realm. Want a fire-eating mime? She's on it. Gypsy poi spinner? She's on it. Staff-spinning warrior? On it. Industrial freak flinging molten steel? So on it. It is her great pleasure to create unique new characters and shows... just for you. For fun, for love, and for memories that will last your crowd a lifetime.

Now celebrating 8 years of flame manipulation, Char has literally combusted onto the scene of fire performance with the power of 30 years of dance, acting, mime, martial arts and movement behind her. It is her great joy to engage the audience in the delight of flame or LED dance, combined with an innovative and energetic style that leaves everyone breathless. She is also fire eater, and breather which she combines with dance and tumbling to surprise and excite crowds of all ages.

Charmaine is also an accomplished solo musician who is happy to play the Ukulele, Piano or both for hours to entertain your crowd. Her repertoire ranges from classic rock to modern top 40s (3 hours of Ukulele tunes alone, for those superfun "Luau" events), OR as a special classy treat for your dinner guests, have her play classical "dinner music;" great for weddings, receptions or other fine events where canned music just won't cut it (3 hours of acoustic piano music available).

Hire her as a combo act! Hours of music (with 2-3 10-minute courtesy breaks per 3 hours), a brief break, then POW! hit 'em with the fire show. Also available for the more daring event planner - fire eating WHILE playing the piano! This requires discussion and special circumstances, as safety always comes first with fire.

For Fire and LED shows, please either provide music or an outlet that I can plug in a small speaker.

Fire shows require a secure area for fueling and storing props - an out-of-the-way area where the crowd isn't likely to wander, or permission to rope off the performance area. I provide my own caution tape or LED light boundary.

Fueling usually begins 5-20 minutes before the actual show time. Special introductions and entrances are possible with a little pre-planning.
