Overview
Chasing Ebenezer is a world folk-rock band based in Portland, Oregon. With influences from Celtic, African, and Middle Eastern music, their songs make it hard for audiences to sit still. Their tunes are alive with fiery violin riffs, world percussion, and an ever-increasing array of instruments. The band is fronted by husband and wife team Benjamin & Heidi Beth Sadler. We can play as a duo, trio or full band to suit the venue and event. We are able to bring our own sound if needed

Chasing Ebenezer did a wonderful job playing at a reception I organized in Vancouver, WA. They were so pleasant to work with and their music was very upbeat. They set the perfect ambiance for an outdoor reception! I hope to work with them again.

About
In their soul-searching tribal folk music, Chasing Ebenezer reflects on the yearning for peace amidst turmoil. They advocate for the abused and abandoned among us and seek to move hearts to sacrificial compassion.
Chasing Ebenezer is based in Portland, Oregon and are recording their first album Outcasts & Refugees to be released in 2017. In 2016, they released “Slavery,” a song written from the perspective of an enslaved sex worker. The band has played at Northwest Folklife (Seattle), XFest in (Columbia Gorge), Operation Overcoat (Portland), and Mississippi Pizza Pub (Portland). They have been covered by Oregon Music News and The Gresham Outlook. They have played in support of many non-profit organizations and partner with people and groups blessing the community.
Ben and Heidi Sadler met in college in Virginia and matured their sound after moving to Portland in 2007. After playing with friends in another group for a few years, they began performing as Chasing Ebenezer in 2013.
Heidi grew up in Romania and learned to play classical violin before honing her folk singing and violin style stateside. Ben incorporates three different acoustic guitars, ukulele, and electric Dobro to give each song a unique sound while blending folk and world music instrumentals and Eddie Vedderesque vocals. Bryan Atkinson keeps the beat on djembe and congas. Ryan Souders (drum kit, bass) and David Skones (electric guitar, bass) crank the rock ’n roll to the next level.
