Cherie Sweetbottom: Washington, DC's Ambassador of Skin! A professional international burlesque entertainer, actress, model, and go-go dancer armed with a megawatt smile, chameleon-like shapeshifting abilities, and a posterior that's been described as "hypnotizing." First runner-up in the Best Performance Artist category in Washington City Paper's Best of DC 2016 and 2017 Reader Poll. Producer of House of Sweetbottom and the Evil League of Ecdysiasts, regular performer at Naked Girls Reading DC. Finalist nominee for the 2017 New York Burlesque Festival Golden Pastie Awards for Rear of the Year. Performing burlesque since 2011.
Fantastic performance, excellent communication before and during. Professional and fun through and through.
I saw Cherie in Richmond for a Tim Curry tribute. her choreography and mannerisms were perfectly in character. In addition , she has a bright smile and warm personality. She was even nice enough to stick around and take photos with the audience in costume. I look forward to seeing her perform again soon.
Response from Cherie Sweetbottom:
Thank you for your wonderful review, Anthony! I hope to be back in Richmond soon! Cheers!

What is burlesque? Burlesque is theatrical striptease, often with elements of humor or satire.
Modern burlesque generally falls into one of two types. "Classic" burlesque involves things like feather boas, floaty panel skirts, glamorous gowns, long satin gloves, feather fans, and lots of sparkle. "Neo" burlesque may include elements of classic burlesque, as well as influences from clowning and theatre, and is usually based on a character, a story, or even pop culture references, such as Game of Thrones, The Hunger Games, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, or Harry Potter characters (all of which I have in my repertoire).
A burlesque act is typically 3 - 5 minutes long and generally involves revealing something about one's character or story by or while removing one's clothing. In most places, a burlesque dancer finishes her act wearing only pasties (nipple coverings) and a g-string. Some areas and venues require more coverage.
Please note: My schedule tends to book at a minimum of 2 - 3 weeks in advance, with some dates booked months ahead. The earlier you contact me, the better chance I will be available.
Cherie Sweetbottom, the Ambassador of Skin, is a professionally trained actress who has performed vivid character-driven burlesque all over the U.S. and internationally since 2011. Known for her “hypnotizing” posterior, she is a versatile performer who effortlessly shifts from high-glamour classic burlesque to pop culture inspired nerdlesque, from sultry to silly and poignant to ridiculous. She is an official Naked Girl at Naked Girls Reading DC, producer of DC’s premiere nerdlesque troupe the Evil League of Ecdysiasts (established 2012) and the live music and classic burlesque revue House of Sweetbottom. She was voted DC’s Best Performance Artist first runner-up in the 2016 and 2017 Washington City Paper’s Reader’s Poll and was a finalist nominee for the 2017 New York Burlesque Festival’s Golden Pastie Award for Rear of the Year. She has appeared in the New York Burlesque Festival, DC’s Capital Fringe Festival, the Americana Burlesque and Sideshow Festival, the New York Nerdlesque Festival, several regional tours, the Burlesque is Coming national tour, and has performed with a number of live bands, including the Brian Newman Band, Jonny Grave and the Tombstones, Foggy Bottom Whomp Stompers, and Tongue in Cheek Jazz Band.
Cherie has a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre and has been entertaining live audiences for over 20 years.
My minimum requirements are a place to change into my costume, an area in which to perform (floor or stage, depending on the location), lighting, someone to introduce me, and someone to operate my music. I can bring my music on CD, mp3 player, or laptop, depending on what format your location can accommodate.
