First of all the character was too short but on short notice that is not the the problem. I do not want to accuse him of anything and he was very nice but not a good fit for children.

Martin did a excnt presentatioi himself for meeting the people and his singing. his wig and clothes and the cape were excellant. the Elvs songs and his singing was great. Meetkng the people he made them happy, feel good and the people asked him questions. I would recommend Martin if anyone needs my word.

It made for a great surprise and was a big hit with the group. He even helped source a leprechaun outfit to wear as it fell over St. Patrick’s Day weekend and tailored custom song lyrics for the occasion. I highly recommend him for your next special occasion!

Brian’s Birthday party was completely enthralled by Martin’s performance as Mick Jagger. Everyone laughed and cheered as Martin sang to Brian; the group clapped and sang along, too.

He was on time. He sung with his voice. He knew the songs well. His costume was great however, a better wig would make it awesome. One of our party guest asked him what was his first hit and he said "heartbreak hotel". Elvis's first hit was "That’s all right mama" on Sun Records.

I hired Voices of Magic for my partner's 69th surprise birthday party on the Fourth of July. They were wonderful! They made their performance very personal for her and even added songs related to the patriotic theme of the day. Barbershop Quartet music can be hard to find but so appreciated.

I decided at the last minute to try and embarrass my son on his 21st B day. I hired Martin to dress as a pink gorilla and surprise him at work. Both Martin and the company in general were very responsive and helpful. Martin showed up at the agreed upon time, and sang his pink furred heart out. There was embarrassment, good humor, and lots of fun. Thank you so very much!!!

Martin brought a lot of energy and a lot of laughs! He was the only responder that followed up his quote with a phone call, which I appreciated. He also continued to text and call, as we finalized song selections and made final arrangements. I would definitely use him again!

(now my fiancée- spoiler alert) Chicago Retro Entertainment set the perfect mood for my surprise proposal and I would recommend them to anyone looking for a singing group for their event. You can always tell when someone really enjoys what they do--John Q obviously loves singing and it shows. He performed a singing telegram for my sister's birthday that had her smiling from ear to ear (this telegram was a surprise I coordinated from NJ for her in IN). He performed an array of song from Happy Birthday, to Gavin DeGraw's " I Don't Want to Be" and even threw in some Elton John and Motown. He was on time, professional, asked the right questions before arriving so he was prepared to perform. Such a nice guy! Definitely would recommend him.

The performance was perfect for our cocktail party. They sang a variety of songs that entertained the whole group. John was communicative and easy to work with in planning the entertainment.

I hired John Q to do a singing telegram for my friends 50th birthday. Since I can't go because of geographic reasons, John was able to deliver my message as if I was there.(with ought the singing of course). The common feedback I received from the guests was that he's a gentleman and very charming. Execution was done well too. THANK YOU SO MUCH JOHN FOR BEING PATIENT AND ACCOMODATING TO MY REQUESTS!!!

Our event was our 40th wedding anniversary. We had 45 guests of all ages--babies on up to age 98--for dinner at a country club. The Chicago Retro Barbershop Quartet provided us with 45 minutes of great entertainment.
John Q., Joe, Brian, and Dillon have great voices and stage presence. They are better than their clips sound on YouTube. I did not hear a single note out of place or out of tune. They classify themselves as more Doo-Wop than typical Barbershop.
Their quote was quite reasonable and John Q. worked with me on the song list. They brought their own sound equipment, which was minimal and did not need much space. I highly recommend them. These gents clearly love what they do.

We would definitely hire him again and would recommend him to anyone looking for a ukulele musician.

CBS Sunday Morning had a story about Singing Telegrams, which inspired me to book one for my husband for Valentine's Day. I googled it and GigSalad popped up, which is the Best and Easiest way to book talent. I completed my request and received two bids immediately. I liked both options so I chose a quartet through Chicago Retro Entertainment and confirmed it via the site. A confirmation was sent to me and it cancelled the other bid. It also automatically removed my request so I would not receive any more bids. I Love this because I didn't have to do it myself. Chicago Retro Entertainment were responsive and contacted me immediately to confirm additional details of the request. I received another follow up call to reconfirm a few details. They were thorough to ensure the surprise would be executed perfectly. When the day arrived, they showed up on time and my husband loved it! He had someone call me via Facetime so I could see it and I was really impressed with their talent. I would highly recommend GigSalad and Chicago Retro Entertainment!

We celebrated our daughter and her future husband with a non-traditional couples bridal shower. Our theme was an old fashioned Americana picnic! Multi generations sang along, couples danced and there was laughter and joyous clapping along. The children in attendance sang and danced and folks from age 2 to 80 left having learned something new, and having been thoroughly entertained.

Needed a uke player for a Hawaiian themed party and Barrett was the answer! Great player, singer, one-man band actually, and was great with guests! Was on time, courteous, and could play anything! Would def hire again!

The Chicago Retro Quartet made Valentine's day special and memorable for my wife. See attached photo of her grinning from ear to ear as she was serenaded with "Let me call you sweetheart." They even gave her a personalized card and a rose. Life is about making memories, and without question this will be a treasured one for her. Thank you so much, gentlemen!

They were really easy to work with, and even with all my time restrains did a perfect job for what I asked!

I contacted the Chicago Retro Quartet to help me with a surprise marriage proposal. The timing of the event was variable because it hinged on when I would pick my girlfriend up at the airport (and how long the flight would be delayed, how long it would take to clear customs, etc.). Even so, the quartet was able to accommodate and stay flexible, which was vital in this endeavor. I was also invited to one of their practices to rehearse my part, which helped me greatly with my nerves. Altogether, they did a wonderful job, and my now-fiancee was completely surprised, and loved the whole performance. I would highly recommend this group, as they are courteous, professional, talented, and overall pleasant people.

The quartet added a very special touch to our party! We were collecting Toys for Tots, as well. The Marine that came to personally participate in the evening, sang with the quartet - a special moment for all!
