CHII (Duan Carter) grew up on the Eastside of Chicago on 87th and Manistee along with is three brothers. My beloved mother passed away at the age of 13 and his life took a different turn. I was forced to feed myself and little brother; therefore I did whatever deemed necessary to get by. My mom always told me as a child that I was going to be star and I faithfully thrive to turn her dreams into reality. I am all about family and plan to give back to the community. I have a strong belief that the youth is our future and I'm determined to prove that if you work hard, you can conquer anything. Regardless of tribes and tribulations that you may face in life.

I wrote my first rap at the age of 15 in the basement of my step moms house and that's when I realized that I had a true talent. Growing up on the streets of Chicago was a bit tough; but I was determined to make it. Having to hustle to get by was only a small token that would lead and add to my Will Power and self driven motivation. At one point I moved to a group home in Illinois and it changed my perspective on life. I then linked up with a mentor that taught me additional life skills and kept me on focus. I began working as a liaison to assist in mentoring the youth. Rapping was always a life given skill; yet it was only a hobby. I later relocated to Minnesota in 2011 and started a new life in...while still working and maintaining focus on achieving my goals. I would often write music and do small shows while working with a friend; but he never seemed to catch my break. The name of the potential label and recordings were Conducted under Million Dollar Musiq and that's when my rap name became Chii. This was formed because Chicago is where I originated and its the place that molded me into the man that I am today.

In Sept of 2013 I met my soulmate; she saw my true talent and began pushing me to pursue my career in music. I then began recording more and performing at local shows throughout the twin cities. In 2014 I won the Minnesota got talent showcase and that achievement really expanded my horizon to what the future could hold. I began thriving more and critiquing my craft. In 2015 we teamed up as a power couple and decided to form a Empire. Million Dollar Musiq LLC was officially licensed and the dreams began coming to a reality. I do not want to be rich but want to be known. I am a strong believer that nothing is handed to you and you have to put in hard work to master prosperous results. I plan to continue guiding and being a inspiration to the youth. I maintain a positive attitude and separate myself from others with a unique sound and different attributes. My fiancé and I; plan to expand Million Dollar Musiq globally and bring other inspiring artist to the top, by coaching, artist development, guidance and mentoring.
