Whether you need a solo performer or a group to bring excitement and entertainment to your event, Chris offers a variety of musical styles from Smooth Jazz, R&B, and Instrumental versions of Top 40 covers. Chris comes as a solo performer or as guitarist for the Azul Experience, a San Antonio based Smooth Jazz / R&B group, comprised of all prior Air Force veterans. The Azul Experience was voted "Best Jazz Band" and "Best R&B Artist" in the San Antonio Current's 2015 Music Awards. Chris & the Azul Experience are regularly hired as the backing band to support prominent national jazz artists in concerts and festivals in and around San Antonio.

For most events, the first set will be comprised of smooth jazz standards or instrumental renditions of popular cover tunes. As the event progresses or, at the request of the host/event planner, more vocal and dance-oriented songs are added.
When musical group is requested, be prepared to see a high energy performance that immediately engages the audience; with performers capable of delivering a wide variety of musical styles. The goal is to have the musical entertainment be one of the many memorable aspects of your special event.
FROM CHICAGO TO DETROIT (MOTOWN) TO TEXAS
Chris has deep musical roots and influences stemming from the Midwest. Born in Chicago, Illinois and later raised in Detroit, Michigan during the Motown heyday. Between his dad and his uncle, there was always a guitar in the house and that's where he found his passion. He took a departure from music during high school, but his interest rekindled after joining the U.S. Air Force and getting stationed in San Antonio, Texas.
USAF YEARS & TOPS IN BLUE
During his 20-year Air Force career, Chris played in several R&B and Jazz bands and developed lifelong friends and music mentors while stationed in Korea, Germany and San Antonio. During his tour in Germany, one of his most notable moments was being selected as guitarist for the Air Force "Tops in Blue" entertainment showcase. The experience was a six-month, overseas tour spanning 23 countries across Europe, the Pacific, Panama, Honduras, Iceland & Greenland.
SAN ANTONIO SCENE
After completing the Tops-in-Blue tour, Chris was re-assigned back to San Antonio and formed his own Jazz/R&B band called "Groove Factor". The group disbanded a few years later after his band mates (all military members) got reassigned to other AF installations.
Chris channels his musical talent as a freelance guitarist and occasional musical director for music festivals, concerts and recording projects. He is regularly hired to back nationally known smooth Jazz artists performing around San Antonio and South Texas. He also performs with other well-known San Antonio bands, and local theater groups.
Chris has released three singles, available on iTunes and working on a self-titled, full-length CD project.
