Chicago-born composer and producer, Chris Valera is an up and coming musical talent. Chris started to get involved in music at the age of 4 when his grandmother began teaching him the piano. He then took formal lessons for 8 years. Chris also taught himself any instrument he could get his hands on such as the guitar, bass, and ukulele.

In his early 20s, he moved to the Philippines to pursue a career in the world of music. He found work as a studio musician and eventually collaborated with Filipina-Italian actress and singer, Alessandra de Rossi and co-produced 2 of her albums. Chris' biggest influences is movie hit composer, Hans Zimmer. Inspired by Zimmer, he soon began work on several independent movie projects, composing the musical score. As more projects with other artists and movies continued to keep him busy, Chris was signed under Viva Records. As a Viva Artist, he also sang and performed in various venues around Manila with different bands or solo gigs.

Now back in his hometown of Chicago, Chris plays in local restaurants and bars as a solo performer and in a full band, Smoke & Mirrors.
