Christina Cavazos

Unique young singer-songwriter with original and covers of indie-folk and alternative coffeehouse-syle music.

Austin and Nashville-based singer-songwriter Christina Cavazos has been dedicated to making music for as long as she can remember. Her musical maturity is fully evident on her second EP, Cold. Showcasing her clear soprano and accomplished songwriting, producer Louie Lino (Nada Surf, Ume, Matt Pond PA) layers Cavazos’ vocals over lush sonic collages, creating an elegant dream-pop mix full of allure. Cavazos was a student at the Austin School for Performing and Visual when she started writing songs at 14. She twice placed as a finalist in Old Settler’s Music Festival Youth Competition and earned a scholarship to Berklee College of Music’s summer program for high-school students. After high school, she was accepted in the Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music at NYU’s renowned Tisch school of the arts. She graduated in 2022 and spent 2 years inNashville before returning to Austin, where she is currently recording a new collection of original songs. She was a finalist in the prestigious Kerrville Folk Festival’s Grassy Hill New Folk Competition in 2023. Cavazos’ wide-ranging influences include the Phoebe Bridgers, Aimee Mann, Ingrid Michelson, Bon Iver, Ben Gibbard (Death Cab for Cutie), the Civil Wars and Fleetwood Mac, but her sound is all her own.
