Christina Sirmons

Christina realized she was a natural dancer when her formal dance training began with Latin dances (cumbia, merengue, and Tejano) at 14 years old. She then studied Modern dance in high school performing in school-wide theater shows. Her path then took her to capoeira, a Brazilian martial art disguised as a dance.

Her introduction to belly dance began in June 2007 and has not stopped! She began taking classes religiously with Heather Stants of Urban Tribal Dance Co. Known for her perfectionism and grace, Christina learned impeccable technique from Heather. With this solid skill-base, she then explored cabaret belly dance classes with instructor Cynthia Hollands (Jasmina). It was wonderful being able to experience both dance styles, but she decided to keep her main focus on tribal fusion belly dance. Since then, she has taken numerous workshops over the years with world-renowned instructors and performers Suhaila Salimpour, Heather Stants, Moria Chappell, Mardi Love, April Rose Burnam, Steven Eggers, Dilek Koksal, Kami Liddle, Sabrina Fox, and Zoe Jakes. In August 2011 she obtained her certification in American Tribal Style belly dance from the indomitable Carolena Nericcio.

In addition, she is a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT-200) in Ashtanga yoga in the lineage of Sri K. Pattabhi Jois.
