We were ranked in the top ten of the regional artist showcase this year at the National Quartet Convention. The judges hailed us as a high energy group! Our new single"Stand For Hope" is now on the radio!. We have a progressive sound with a 4-part harmony blend. We deliver a high energy performance and it is backed with a sound message. We have been endorsed by Shawn Craig of Phillips Craig & Dean as well as Ernie Haase of Signature Sound and many others. We all share a common bond of serving our Lord the best we know how by presenting the gospel every time we hit the stage. Our joy of life and love for the Lord fills us with energy and passion that transforms us into, City on a Hill.
Our group of senior citizens from Nazarene churches located in the St. Louis area had the opportunity to have City On A Hill with us for our Valentine Dinner and it definitely was not a mistake. Their spirit, enthusiasm, openness and love for the Lord shined through the moment they walked in the doors. Their music touched everyone there that evening. Instead of a dinner we ended up having a old fashion revival service. We already booked them for our Christmas Dinner in December. Everyone is looking forward to the opportunity to sharing the evening with them through their music as well as fellowship. If you are looking for a group that is 100% real contact City On A Hill today, I am sure you won't be disappointed. We were not!!
I've heard the COAH Quartet multiple times and am always impressed with their energy and professionalism.
Some groups seem like they just threw together a song list and didn't put any other thought or planning into it... these guys are very well prepared and able to fit into whatever time slot or ministry need that you might have.
Highly recommended!
The congregation at Oak Ridge UMC were really bless to have them to to bring their music ministry to our church. Everyone thought they were great and we would have them back again. Glad to have been a part of their time and talent.

Back in 2008, Derrick Wood of C.O.A.H. and Scott Reed of The Heritage Singers and Faith First, took a long ride to Nashville, TN. and back. What God started on that cold and snowy day through a casual conversation between friends, set forth in motion the idea of City on a Hill. It was at that time that our home church (then South County Christian Center, now Crosspoint) had a building fund in place for our new campus. They called the campaign “City on a Hill” campaign and thus inspired the name of our group.
One by one, God began to lay on Derrick’s heart some very special people that would soon form a very special bond, blend, harmony and enormous energy in the group now called City On A Hill Quartet. In 2006, Derrick was introduced to (lead singer) “Rick Williams”. Rick had a special solo in the first live church album “The Sound We Make”. Rick’s voice reaches people. He blew me away with his passion and vocal range! I approached Rick about joining the group and he did not hesitate. Rick’s back ground compiles of mostly contemporary style of music, however, his vocal style pairs even better with southern gospel.
All great southern gospel quartet’s, need a basement singing bass singer! I was introduced to “John Jump” (Bass singer for COAH) through a great friend, singer and mean fiddle player, Thayne Bradford (former baritone for COAH).When he told me about John, he explained that not only could he sing bass but is a great talent on the guitar. John has toured with Vince Gill and Ricky Scaggs as a musician. I just had to meet this guy! When I met John there was no audition needed! He has been singing bass for us ever since!
When I first started going to Crosspoint (Then SCCC) David Verret (Baritone for COAH) was leading music that day. Not only could he carry a tune, he posseses an unsurpassed amount of energy that light's up the stage! I have come to know that, he is as real off the stage as he is on. I approached him with the idea of becoming our baritone singer in 2009 and he jumped on board. He has brought a real energy to this group! David is also one of the pastors at our home church Crosspoint.
Derrick Wood, tenor and founding member is no stranger to the stage. He sang tenor with Sincerity Quartet of Decatur, IL. for six years while helping his Dad pastor a church. He became quickly known for his spirited moves and dance to the fan favorite “Didn’t It Rain”! He has had the pleasure of sharing the stage with many southern gospel artists along the road. When he and his family made the move to St. Louis, Mo. they found a great church family and quickly became involved in the music ministry.
We all share a common bond of serving our Lord the best we know how by presenting the gospel every time we hit the stage. Our passion and energy transpose into praises to our King. Each of us bring years of experience that has formed us into who we are and Whom we represent on and off the stage. Our joy of life and love for the Lord fills us with energy and passion that transforms us into, City on a Hill.
