Media Talk 101:
Media Talk 101 is one of our most popular presentations. It focuses on media discernment in the light of following Christ in our culture.
A half century ago, as modern media at that time became more integrated into the average home, some Christians had a tendency to become legalistic (creating lists of do’s and don’ts) about movies, television, and music in their attempt to be holy and separate from the world. It was a worthy goal but not necessarily the right approach.
In the modern church there has been a pendulum swing in the opposite direction which has resulted in widespread compromise and spiritual lethargy. The subject of holiness often gets muddled in legalism and the subject of grace often gets muddled in compromise.
Jesus taught them both and neither legalism nor compromise are excuses to abandon the truth. The Media Talk 101 seminar approaches the subject of media with an emphasis on following Jesus and gaining wisdom from His example, the instruction of Scripture and the guidance and power of the Holy Spirit.
Forgiveness Formula Series:
It doesn’t make sense, it doesn’t seem to “add up.” Part of being human in this world we inhabit means we endure…
Pain,
Struggle, and
Resistance
…in the physical, mental, social, emotional and spiritual realms.
How each person chooses to deal with that pain varies from one person to another.
We have a myriad of answers, remedies and quick fixes that sometimes work to dull the pain in the short-term but never work over the long-term.
Some of these quick fixes include…
Alcohol
Drugs
Sex
TV
Pornography
Video games
Movies
Shopping
Chocolate
Coffee
Recreation
Self-injury and even suicide.
And the list goes on…
We want you to know that these seminars are presented by two broken and fragile human beings who are far from perfect. We’ve also attempted to numb our own pain with many of the things on that list above without any lasting success.
We simply want to share some things that made ALL the differenceregarding how we dealt with and continue to deal with pain and loss in our own lives.
We hope you’ll see us as two hungry beggars who found some bread and now want to show others where to find that bread. And let me tell you…this is some TASTY bread!
We believe every person can benefit from what we share in these seminars, whether you’ve endured varying levels of pain or struggle in your own life or you know someone who has.
It’s our prayer that God uses these seminars as a tool to bring healing, hope and a newfound freedom to people from all walks of life.
Maybe you’ve been searching for that formula that will help you make sense of your life. Come join us as we explore the mathematics of Jesus and His Forgiveness Formula…

AV Equipment Needs / Set-Up
We will bring our own computer and projector. Most of our talks run through Power Point and require audio for the videos we present. Therefore, we will need to plug into your projector as well as your audio system. We will also need a power connection for the laptop and a screen. Please provide as large of a screen as possible, as well as extension cords for their equipment.
Please have someone available that is familiar with your system to help with the set-up the day of the event.
When we present the guys/girls breakout sessions at the same time, you will need two areas where we can set up their laptops with projectors and sound. If we are driving to your location, we can bring their own portable sound system, microphone, screen and projector. Please let us know if that is necessary.
Product Table
We have books and DVDs that will be available for purchase the day of the event. Please have a product table available and let attendees know these items will be available.
Housing
When booking us, know that we are flexible when it comes to housing for overnight stays. We are willing to stay in a host home, if available. However, please note that we are both allergic to cats, so it would be best if there were not any cats in the host home.
