I'm a local cellist in the Salem OR area who loves to travel and perform at special events! Let me know what kind of event you have and types of music you are looking for! I can accommodate for most events and genres of music. I can provide solo cello or string duos/trios/quartets!
We booked Clair on one day's notice for a high profile nonprofit event in Portland. She was incredibly communicative, professional, and self-directed. She provided welcoming music for arriving guests and subtle ambience for a reception after a press event. We would undoubtedly hire her again for any type of event.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5-STARS for Clair! Our wedding day at the Hoyt Arboretum in Portland was elevated to a whole new level of magic and enchantment, and we have Clair to thank for it. Her exquisite musical performance not only met but exceeded our expectations, leaving us and our guests in awe throughout the entire ceremony.
We requested a mix of classical and modern music, and she graciously accommodated our every request. Her repertoire was diverse and captivating, seamlessly blending the traditional classical and the contemporary. She played Bach and Pachelbel as well as our favourite 'Married Life' from Disney Pixar's Up, Can't Help Falling in Love, Moon River, and What A Wonderful World. Clair's musical expertise and her willingness to tailor her performance to our vision made our wedding ceremony unforgettable.
Not only is Clair incredibly talented, but she is also a delight to work with. Throughout the planning process, Clair maintained open and prompt communication, ensuring that everything was in place for a flawless performance.
If you're still debating on whether or not to hire a cellist for your special event, don't hesitate to hire Clair! Her music really did add an extra layer of emotion and beauty to our big day, making it an unforgettable experience for all. We only wish there was enough time to talk to her during our wedding day.
Clair, THANK YOU for sharing your extraordinary talent with us and creating an atmosphere of pure magic on our wedding day. We will be recommending you to everyone we know!
Having Clair play her cello at our wedding was truly one of the highlights of the whole event. Our families have continuously been talking about the quality of the music in the week since the wedding. She's a remarkable talent and filled our ceremony and dinner with the most beautiful music imaginable.
Besides playing her cello at our wedding, Clair was also kind enough to help us with planning the music for it. We spoke over the phone and communicated via email where she listened to what we wanted and made thoughtful suggestions to help us realize our desires. Based on what she heard from us, she suggested a violin/cello duet and made all the necessary arrangements to bring in another gifted violin musician. She helped us figure out what style and sorts of music we liked and then made additional suggestions based on that. She even managed to find an arrangement for a special song request we made so we could hear it at the end of our wedding dinner.
I could go on-and-on in my praise for Clair and her musical talents (and also how thoughtful, kind, and easy she was to work with) but I'll end my review with this: If you're planning an event, of any sort, and if you want it to feature absolutely stunning musical performances, I can't recommend you hire Clair enough.
Thank you, Clair, for adding so much magic to our wedding!
I can’t tell you how much the music added to my daughters wedding. The cello duet was everything we imagined, soulful, romantic, and stunningly beautiful. They played a tune from Pride and Prejudice, my daughters favorite movie, Canon in D, and a beautiful rendition of “I Can’t Help Falling In Love With You” as well as many other arrangements after the ceremony. I wish I could hire you to play in my home everyday😊
I reached out to Clair about a week before my planned proposal and she immediately got in touch with me to start working out the details. She had some great suggestions for songs to play and was very engaging in our discussions around how we could set everything up.
Overall if you’re looking for someone who’s not only an amazing cellist but also somebody who’s punctual, receptive and incredibly easy to work with, I wouldn’t look any further than Clair.
I hired Clair Dietz for an outside, graveside memorial service. We had rain and Clair had to play under a canopy, on a sloped hillside. I told Clair to dress for the weather and she could even wear fleece. She was still professionally attired. I was very happy with her execution of the five pieces I had selected. She also abided by the length of time I had allotted for each piece in order to keep the service to the desired length. Clair arrived to give herself plenty of time for set-up and was ready for the scheduled start. Before hiring her, Clair and I met on Zoom so I could hear her play.
I am extremely happy with how my mother's service went and received many compliments for Clair's cello playing. I would definitely hire Clair again. The pieces played were: Pachelbel Canon in D, Bach Air, Saint-Saens The Swan, Harburg Somewhere over the Rainbow, Bach Cello Suite No 1.
