Clarita and guitarist were amazing performers. We were completely satisfied with their show. Very interactive, very engaging. It was a family oriented birthday house party and they did not disappoint. Worth every penny. Thank you
The guitarist and the fabulous dancer arrived on time and delivered an absolutely jaw dropping performance. Like being at "the local hidden gem" in Spain! The singing and the dancing was a symbiosis and just perfect!
Unfortunately only 5 stars are available. They deserve more :-)
Clarita was very professional, arrived on time and as promised. Set up was quick. She danced beautifully. The guitarist was wonderful. She helped make the evening memorable. I would definitely hire her again.
Response from Clarita Filgueiras - Flamenco Puro:
Thank you Ana!! We loved performing for you.
Merry Christmas and many blessings.
Clarita and her group were fantastic. They worked with us to curate their performance to our event and it was a huge success! They got the guests dancing and they are wonderful performers. Her band is fantastic as well. I would highly recommend!
Both Clarita and the guitarist were very good! We had a lovely time. I wish I would have had them for longer. Thank you
Clarita is a class act! She is a wonderful dancer & true professional. I highly recommend her.
Response from Clarita Filgueiras - Flamenco Puro:
Thank you so much. It was a pleasure!
Clarita arrived late due to traffic resulting in one class not being able to see the entire show. However, her performance was outstanding & engaging. While we experienced technical difficulties with our speaker & her IPod, she improvised and kept the students attention. The dancing was beautiful & she even took time for photos with the children. I highly recommend Clarita for any event!
Nobody knew about it, and a completely surprise that I had for all. Very impressed with the professionalism, passion and commitment of clarity's and her team.
All people recording (including the yacht club maitre) and at the end, all dancing with them. Everybody remembers the dancing show as the special moment of my 40th!
Response from Clarita Filgueiras - Flamenco Puro:
Begona, Thank you so much for your lovely review. It was our pleasure and honor to perform for you.
Warmest Regards,
Clarita
Ms. Filgueiras was our feature entertainment along with her guitarist for a Spanish theme
holiday party for 70 guests. All of my guests just loved her performance. Several of the guests thought she was the best flamenco dancer they'd ever seen even after traveling through Spain. She even shared with the guests the history of Flamenco dance and the symbols and use behind the castanets and fan. She was just mesmerizing! I highly recommend her for your next event.

“Things we love about Spain, … Clarita Filguerias”
New York Times
“’La Escenia,’ (performed by Clarita Filgueiras) was notable for its sinuous, even serpentine, arm movements”.
New York Times
“An augmented musical ensemble adds color to the emotions of Clarita Filgueiras’ solo, … from the rhythms of her crisp foot-stamping to her sinuously arching spine, subtly mobile face, and liquid hands, fluttering like hummingbirds around her.”
Miami Herald
”Recognized as one of the finest exponents of Spanish dance, Ms. Filgueiras exhibits grace, style, command and intensity in her performances.”
Miami Herald
“The Spanish Dances headed by Clarita Filgueiras were brilliant” (in the Florida Grand Opera Carmen). El Nuevo Herald “… the setting of Doucet/Barbe can be greatly enjoyed, specially the moments of dancing in which Clarita Filgueiras and her Flamenco Puro group shines with her masterful interpretation of original choreographies.”
El Nuevo Herald
“There’s a moment in the show in which the music of the guitars stop to make way for a more ancestral form of dance (accompanied only by handclapping). The tall and elongated figure (Clarita Filgueiras) starts a ritual in which she invokes the rhythm of drums while her hands don’t miss erotic and sensuous movements. Her intervention is divided like jazz: introduction, improvisation and culmination. If you listen carefully the song sung with her feet are like a combination of different Gypsy songs.”
Miami Herald
“Local choreographer and performer Clarita Filgueiras' troupe of flamenco dancers jazzed up the
tavern scene and provided an impressive introduction to the festival in the finale.”
Sun Sentinel
“Florida Grand Opera ‘Carmen’ Featuring Clarita Filgueiras and her electrifying ensemble of
12 flamenco dancers.”
Miami Herald
“Clarita Filgueiras, who has made the rhythmic dancer her life… some even call her
Miami’s “Keeper of Flamenco.”
Gulf Coasting South, Estero, Florida
“Clarita’s performances with Flamenco Puro… Ah, such fine line, such exquisite hands, such clarity of escobilla! We students marveled at her commanding, calming presence and beautiful carriage of those long arms.”
Flamenco Minnesota
“Someone who certainly can draw me into her inner world is Clarita Filgueiras. With her huge intense dark eyes exuding ‘duende,’ that intrinsically Spanish combination of soulfulness and Unamuno’s ‘tragic sense of life’, she’s one of the most riveting stage performers you’re likely to encounter. She lent her intriguing charisma…”
Sunpost
“Clarita Filgueiras and Jairo Rodriguez, in white, glow with sexual energy as they tease and flirt with each other.”
Miami New Times
“Throughout the evening, Clarita Filgueiras consistently commanded the control of the back, insinuating shoulders, curve of the arms and diamond-clear footwork that are the marks of the best flamenco dancing… breathtaking for its emotion and fine detailing.”
New York TImes
“Among the highlights… a duet for Ms. Filgueiras and Mr. Calvo de Mora that began tenderly, then burst into fire!”
CLARITA FILGUEIRAS Artistic Director, Choreographer and Dancer has spent a lifetime in Flamenco dance. Clarita descends from a long line of Flamenco artists. Her father, Julio Filgueiras Dominguez was an aficionado Flamenco singer and her grandmother, Clara Dominguez Reyes, was a professional Flamenco cantaora or singer.
Ms. Filgueiras has established herself as one of the top Flamenco dancers in the United States and is highly-respected among her peers both in the United States and in Spain. Clarita has dedicated most of her life to Flamenco dance and has performed in Miami for over 20 years individually and as guest artist for dance companies.
Clarita has studied bata de cola “long train dress” with the Master of bata de cola, Milagros Mengibar in Sevilla, Spain and has become a highly regarded exponent of this unique art form. She is the only dancer in Miami to use the bata de cola and has been sought after for performances with the bata de cola. Clarita is current with the state of Flamenco and is most aware of the latest trends; making her performance traditional yet modern and relevant.
In 1993 and 1994, Clarita toured on various occasions with the Gypsy Kings as soloist performer. From 1997 to 2005, Clarita was invited to join the Carlota Santana-Flamenco Vivo Dance Company based in New York and Madrid. Clarita traveled many times to Madrid, Spain and throughout the United States to scores of prestigious theaters as lead dancer of Carlota Santana – Flamenco Vivo Dance Company.
Among the many theaters in which she has performed, Clarita performed yearly at the Joyce Theater in New York for week long engagements. She has worked with Spain’s top artists such as: Antonio Granjero, Manolete, Miguel Angel Rojas and Carols Rodriguez of Nuevo Flamenco Dance
Company, La Repompa de Malaga, La Tasha of Arrieritos Dance Company, Canizares, Chuscales, Manolo Liñan, and Andres Marin of Jovenes Flamenco Dance Company among others.
Clarita pursued a successful career as a Flamenco soloist touring throughout Spain, Germany, France, Italy, Honduras, Nicaragua, Mexico, Argentina, Ecuador, Colombia, Costa Rica, and throughout the United States performing in mainstream theaters. Her training and experience includes many forms of Flamenco dance and theater, and she has created over 100 original works for many companies; trained many of the professional, working dancers in Broward and Dade County; and has been invited for numerous guest appearances, residencies, and commissions throughout the US. Clarita generally “sells-out” her performances and self-produced shows.
Due to the nature of the dance, a wooden floor is preferred. It can be provided for weddings and corporate shows. Audio mics called "taps" to be used on the theater stage.
Clarita Filgueiras has a vast wardrobe and can complement your event with style and grace.
Can dance with a singer/guitarist or accompanied to recorded music. Has a versatile repertoire.
Lighting can be changed as necessary, to complement the show.
Audio systems can be brought to event upon request.
My biggest influence in Flamenco is Farruquito. I also admire the dancing of Maria Pages, Concha Jareño, and Pastora Galvan.
A wooden floor is preferred, but can be provided by the dancer for an additional fee.
