Clint Anderson and the Montana Gazette band are known for bringing their boot stompin’ old school country to liven up your honkytonk, community dance, wedding reception, corporate or private party. Band members Derek Hofer (guitar), Silas Rea (fiddle), Cabot Metz (steel guitar), Greg Valor (drums) and Shawna Lockhart (doghouse bass) provide the drive for Clint’s downhome vocals and get your party out on the dance floor or singing-along to country favorites.
Band members also play Bluegrass, Cajun, or are available as soloists, duo, or instrumental trios and are willing to learn your special song within their musical genres.
Clint Anderson and the Montana Gazette played at our wedding in Belgrade this past weekend. I can’t say enough good things about them. Clint fielded probably 10 of my phone calls in the last 9 months as we prepped for the wedding sorting out logistics, timelines, and choosing songs.
The day of, the band showed up early for setup and ensured everything was ready to go prior to playing. Additionally, they made extra effort to just be friendly and get to know our friends and family.
When it came to them playing, it far exceeded my expectations. They kept our guests dancing for hours and Clint was even flexible enough to keep playing for another half hour when I asked him to. Having a live country band at our wedding was something my wife really wanted, and if I could do it over again the only thing I would have changed is for them to play longer. They were incredible!
Response from Clint Anderson and the Montana Gazette:
Hi Stephen,
Thanks so much for the kind words. We had a great time playingfor your group! We need to learn those dace moves to Fishing in the Dark that yougys did! So much fun.
We booked Clint & the Montana Gazette Band to play our wedding at Chico Hot Springs in Pray. They provided both the instrumental music for the ceremony and cocktail hour, as well as the full band for the reception. From the beginning, they were so wonderful to work with and incredibly flexible in planning the logistics of the day. They customized their set list and even learned songs for both the ceremony and the first dances at the reception. They took care of all their own set up and were fully ready with no fuss and time to spare. The music for the ceremony and cocktail hour was amazing - the fiddle and guitar was the perfect backdrop. Then they really got the party started after dinner and kept the dance floor hopping all night with their selection of 80s and 90s country classics. They played even longer than we expected! So many folks commented on how special the music was and how much fun they made the reception. Highly, highly recommend you consider them if the vibe you are looking for at your wedding or event is a good time at rockin' saloon.

Montana Country Honkytonk just about says it all. We are a 6 piece band, pedal steel guitar, drums, bass, fiddle, electric guitar, and finally our lead singer and rhythm guitar player, Clint Anderson. We love to play danceable country standards that keep the crowd on the dance floor all night long. Most of us grew up in Montana listening to favorite musicians like George Jones, Johnny Cash, Merle Haggard, Dwight Yoakam, Buck Owens, and many others. Now we love to play this old school honkytonk sound and get the crowd singing along with their friends in low places. Of course we'd love to play some highbrow places that need some pure Montana country to liven up the joint. Our fine musicians can also play as solo, duets, trio, in a variety of styles if you are looking for something a bit different too!

From Buck Owens to George Jones, Merle Haggard, Johnny Cash, Chris Stapleton and a myriad of others, we are heavily influenced by the traditional country artists of the past, particularly during the 60s thru the 80s. We still love newer artists like The Countryside of Harmonica Sam that are writing new songs that have the great country sound.
