I hired the Clint walker band to play my Middle Daughter's wedding reception, They put on a great show, with several styles of music. We could not have been more happy with his performance, Everyone loved the show, and he was a big hit with everyone. If you want a great musician/song writer/ singer/ entertainer, you can't go wrong with the Clint Walker band. Their level of professionalism is unmatched by any other band I have ever heard. Clint's dedication to his audience, and the music he plays, is clearly a reflection of the quality you will get when you hire him to play. Clint Walker,
Was born on March, 14th 1975 in Vinita, (link hidden) Dave and Kathy Walker. While growing up on the family farm, Clint's Father, a driver for UPS and Mother, a homemaker worked very hard to support their new addition. At the age of six, Clint had grown very interested in the records his father had brought home after serving three years for the US Army in Germany. While the records played on, Clint would stand in front of his bedroom mirror as he sang along. Most of the music his father had returned home with was Country and within a year, he had learned almost every word to each song on over fifty records. Upon turning seven, his father took him to Wal-Mart so he could pick out a birthday gift. It was no surprise to his father that the first place they checked out was the music isle! Clint looked them carefully over and decided to get Elvis Presley's # 1 hits album. Not knowing who Elvis was, his father explained what Elvis had done for all music and how the girls swooned and screamed when he appeared. Clint took his new record home where he grew fond of the Rock, Pop, Blues, Rock-a-billy, R&B, Gospel and Country in Elvis' style. A year would pass as Clint would sing for family and friends during special get togethers.
As Christmas approached Clint was about to turn 8 years old. He asked his parents for an electric guitar on his birthday. Not knowing for sure if he would take it serious enough his Father and Mother chose to get him a small $20 acoustic guitar from Montgomery Ward. Instead of giving the guitar to Clint on his birthday, they made it a surprise gift for Christmas. Clint was all smilies as he opened the box and his father telling him "now son, you learn how to play this guitar, and show us you are serious, then next Christmas we'll get you that electric guitar"!
Within six months Clint was playing chords he taught himself using the Mel-Bay Chord book for guitar. When Christmas came back around, his parents kept their promise. He opened the box on a Fender Strat electric just like he wanted.
After practicing a minimum two hours a day, Clint was ready to try his hand at performing for strangers.
At the age of nine, Clint was enrolled in a local 4-H club so he could show livestock and learn more about farm life. While attending a club meeting, he learned about a talent show 4-H put on called Share-The_Fun so he decided to give it a try.
Being his first time to perform on stage, a family friend who played guitar sat behind the curtain to help out in case Clint forgot some chords. But he remembered them all and while playing, he sang "I'll Fly Away" earning a blue ribbon.
Clint continued performing in the 4-H talent shows as well as other places willing to give him a chance.
Between the age of ten through 12 he went on to win the Jr. division twice in a row.
At 13, he was now competing in the Sr level with kids ranging in age from 13 through 18.
Clint dominated the competition as he won the County competition 9 years straight, two district competitions and performed three times for the Oklahoma State 4-H Round Up held at Oklahoma State University.
Between 14 and 16 Clint become a fan of the music by Roy Orbison and Buddy Holly. He continued practicing on the songs he was trying to learn and began to write his own lyrics as well.
When Clint turned 16, he was performing in Grove, Ok and was introduced to Jana Jae who was a regular fiddle player for Buck Owens on the HEE-HAW show. Jana liked him enough that she took him on the road as her opening act for several Wal-Mart store concerts across the USA.
During this time, Clint was perfecting his song writing skills and had written enough material to record a demo.
After the demo was complete Clint would sale his cassettes at all the live performance at which time he learned the importance of merchandising and how to connect with the fans off the stage.
Upon graduating High School, Clint moved to Durant, OK where he attended Southeastern University studying Sound Engineering and Pro Audio. While in Durant, he got hired to be a regular with the Big Train Opry Show in Denison Texas performing every Saturday night.
After two years, Clint returned to Vinita, and was introduced to his first manager & promoter, Bobby Poe. Bobby owned and produced a live radio Opry show called the Grand Grove Opry in Grove, Ok on Grand Lake. While with Bobby, Clint opened many shows for Jerry Reed, George Jones, Ronnie Milsap, David Frizzell, Hank Thompson, Narvel Felts, Tommy Cash, Kitty Wells, Ray Price, just to name a few.
Clint continued performing at the Grand Grove Opry until the lease ran out in 2001. After the Opry show closed, Clint and his new wife Sherry took some time off while they enjoyed the new born Clinton Walker II.
In 2002 Clint and his Cousin Jason Faulconer formed a new band named, "Fully Loaded" featuring Clint on lead vocals/Guitar, Jason on vocals /guitar, Brian Captain /drums and Jim Brown on the bass. Clint and Jason wanted to try something a little more cutting edge than they were used to so the Band started performing more Southern Rock style songs as well as writing their own.
Fully Loaded continued performing until they split up in 2005.
After the split from Fully Loaded, Clint continued writing and performing his own material.
and in 2006 he and his new manager Rodney Lay, received word from a producer in Kansas who had a connection to some well written songs not yet cut. Clint and Rodney reviewed of 40 songs and chose 8 to record. In the spring of 2006 Clint recorded his second album project titled "Obsession" when it came time to hire the musicians to play on the sessions the producer, Larry Brockway called in Big & Riches Band to fill the bill.
The album received luke warm reviews by the Nashville labels but the fans continue to enjoy it when they hear Clint perform some of the songs from the album live.
From (phone number hidden)2, Clint formed a three piece band and started focusing on the rock-a-billy sounds he had heard in Buddy Holly's music.
But never leaving his country roots. After Jim the Bass player passed away, Clint decided to take a break and regroup.
2013 he hired two new players Richard Martin on the bass and Randy Todd on the Drums. After one month of constant rehearsing the Clint Walker Band came out of the practice room ready to play. Already having performed almost 50 shows just this year, there is no doubt they are on to something good. They will leave you amazed and keep you wanting more!
