Adversity and setbacks as an athlete & coach have caused me to look deep inside, and find the resolve to not quit. Coach Wayne (Mendo) Mendezona and I have known each other for almost 15 years. I first met Coach Mendo when he was Founder and CEO of Quick Handle Basketball Camps, a successful business where he trained and developed athletes on the fundamentals of basketball techniques. During that period, I worked a short time marketing his business where I saw him as a strong leader, visionary and entrepreneurial thinker.
Later on, I worked with Coach Mendo a second time after he introduced me to a healthy means to supplement my eating plan. I worked at some of his basketball camps promoting healthy drinks and snacks for the kids. This was when I realized not only was Coach Mendo a great administrator and business leader, but also a very skillful charismatic and dynamic speaker as well. He would have the kids in his camps do mental performance exercises that made them mentally tough to play the game of life as well as basketball. Over many years and still to this day, his motivational messages are some of the best ones around.
In summary, Coach Mendo is a people person, unifier, instructor, motivator, and businessman all rolled into one. And that’s why he is such a powerful and influential motivational speaker. Based on my years of connecting with Coach Mendo and seeing how he inspires all age groups of people, this man definitely has a special gift in helping people to become more than they ever thought they could.
