About
I am a solo performer with the technical and musical abilities to layer many sounds simultaneously. This creates a BIG, warm multilayered
acoustic sound accompanied by soulful, professional sounding vocals
Past : Born, October 12th 1970 in Cleveland, Ohio. He attended St. Bartholomew Middle School and Holy Name High School. He studied piano and music theory for two years at the Kulas Music Conservatory at Baldwin Wallace College in Berea, Ohio. Cornbread started his professional career at the age of 19 when he began performing solo acoustic shows in nightclubs throughout the Cleveland area as well as the Flats District of Cleveland, College campuses, Art and Music Festivals, Coffee Houses and Restaurants. He formed the band called Sandalwood Junction at the age of 21 and has continued to play in bands, trios, duos and solo acts. He has played major cities in California, Colorado, Pennsylvania, New York, Ohio, Indiana, Arizona and New Mexico over the past 20 years.
Releases: He released his first original CD called Indian Creek in 1991. His 2nd CD was released in 1997. This project was a blend of original music and cover material recorded live at The Renegade Cafe in Taos, N.M. it was appropriately called Caught Live. His third release, in 2001 was called Any Night .
Present: Cornbread Murphy is considered to be an accomplished Singer, Songwriter, Guitarist, Performer and Producer. In 2013, Cornbread Murphy started Aldersong Records and is currently working on original rock and ambient releases. He is also performing in varied musical capacities throughout the Cleveland area. Additional Booking Notes
I am a solo performer, however, I incorporate a looping device which gives me 'on the fly' recording capabilities. This allows me to add percussive qualities, counter-melodies, harmonics, alternate melody lines etc.. all LIVE and ' on the spot!' As a result, my "solo" performance tends to sound more like a duo, trio or band.
I have lighting and PA system but am not opposed to using venue sound system and lights.
