This young band has already a lot of playing live experience. After 5 Renaissance Faires, 6 County Faires in So California and several clubs (Epicentre, Queen Bee's, Across-the-Street) they can perform on a professional level in front of any audience. And as a bonus, the charming young drummer girl adds to the show entertainment.
CMB - Crossland Medieval Band (former Children Medieval Band).
Formed in the spring of 2011, Children Medieval Band became quickly known all over the world (via youtube, with several viral videos) because of several unique features:
- The band leader (18 years old) is the youngest known multi-instrumentalist, playing on at least nine instruments,
- It is the youngest band to play in front of a huge audience (10,000) in Denver, on opening up for the Rammstein concert,
- And last but not least, the charming performance done by the drummer girl (only 13 years old).
The line-up
Stefan (18 yo) – voice, guitar, violin, recorder, keyboard, etc…
and his two sisters:
Olga (16 yo) – keyboard, voice, violin, recorder
Cornelia (13 yo) – drum, harp, voice
(updated ages in 2019)
Style and influences
This young band likes the “good” rock and avoids frivolous rock and evil rock.
The main influences are Beatles, Cream, Stranglers and Rammstein.
We are trying to find our own style: a fusion of heavy tense industrial metal, with elements of medieval music.
Background
The group has been formed in the spring of 2011 by the kids themselves. Stefan came out with two composition attempts and the girls joined him with enthusiasm.
While learning and playing medieval music (several videos posted on youtube), they also started doing covers of rock songs, mostly as a learning project. They played and posted on youtube.com three 60′s songs and three Rammstein covers. They quickly became popular on youtube, the cover of Sonne reaching more than 2 million views in a few weeks.
On May 20th 2012, the kids from Children Medieval Band played live as an opening act for the Rammstein show in Denver. It was a great audience. The kids performed very well. They met with the Rammstein group members, took pictures, had interesting discussions. It was a memorable evening.
Three albums : 2015, 2017 and 2019 - they released their own compositions.
Meanwhile they played numerous concerts with classic rock - from Ventures to Foreigner and D. Bowie
Their plans for the future?
To continue learning Early Music, to play a few more covers of most notable rock bands and to start creating their own compositions.
We can cover three different repertoires:
1. Medieval and Renaissance music
2. History of Rock from Beatles to Rammstein
3. Our own compositions
