High-level Jazz Music for your event! Perfect for a wedding reception, company event, private party, or whatever else you're planning.
Group size can range from duo to quintet, and we can perform acoustically if needed. I hire local, professional musicians who are beautiful players, very dependable, and sharp dressers. Offering styles ranging from Bebop to "Cool Jazz" to Traditional New Orleans. Whatever the event calls for, we will create the perfect mood.
I also offer solo trumpet services (classical or jazz). I can perform solo for wedding ceremonies, funeral services, and religious events. Depending on the venue, I can include organ/keyboard accompaniment.
We had Cyrus come play on our Mardi Gras themed out of school day. He was on time and very professional. He was prepared and followed an interactive agenda. He was very natural with the children and taught them a little bit about music. The most enjoyable was the freeze dance activity. He also led a mini Mardi Gras! I would highly recommend him for any event with children.
Cyrus and his team put on an amazing performance at our wedding reception and made it a night to remember!

Cyrus was great, arrived a little too early I think we had a little bit of a communication error. But no big deal. We all waited it out. I think my gigs are a little bit harder than others. You don’t go into a venue and play you’re usually going into someone’s home, or not your usual event. This is exactly what we were looking for and the music was great!

Cyrus Nabipoor is a trumpeter, composer, improviser, singer and teacher based in Portland, OR. The young musician is an established voice in the creative music scene, balancing focused clarity with daring exploration. His trumpet playing is recognizable by its warm tone, lyricism, and unique phrasing. Cyrus is involved in a number of groups, most notably his Quintet and as co-leader of NORUZ. Cyrus frequently collaborates with beat-makers Korgy & Bass, as well as being on the creative team behind pop-sensation Cyrus Snow. He is co-founder of Lore, a multisensory storytelling performance series, with visual artist Ida Floreak.
Cyrus is endorsed by Edwards Trumpets. He has artist partnerships with PreSonus & Horn FX.
Born and raised in Portland, Oregon, he began playing trumpet at age 11. He wanted to play trombone, but it wouldn’t fit on his bike. As an adolescent Cyrus was taught by Cynthia Plank and local trumpeter Derek Sims. In high school he joined the Alan Jones Academy of Music, where he learned how to stop playing stupid shit (mostly). Cyrus holds a Bachelor of Music from Loyola University New Orleans. He graduated magna cum laude and was awarded outstanding undergraduate in both Jazz and Brass. While there, he studied with Nick Volz, Tony Dagradi and Jimbo Walsh. Cyrus also spent a term at the Grieg Academy in Bergen Norway studying with ECM legend Per Jørgensen and Martin Winter (principal trumpet, Bergen Philharmonic). He regularly returns to Norway, where he has ongoing collaborations with Simen Kiil Halvorsen, Roar Kjeldahl Berntsen, Arne Fjose Sandberg, Petter Asbjornsen & many more.
Cyrus has performed with Jamison Ross, Elle King, Eric “Benny” Bloom, Tarriona “Tank” Ball, Jason Marsalis, James Singleton, Steve Masakowski, Johnny Vidacovich, Michael Ray, Mike Dillon, Stanton Moore, Larry Sieberth, Dean Ween, and Jarle Vespestad. Cyrus is a recipient of the 2015 International Trumpet Guild Jazz Scholarship.
