Ahna was so great! She was really awesome interacting with the kids, and her face painting designs were fabulous.. she's a very talented. She was also easy to communicate with prior to the event, and very professional. We would definitely hire DAHC again. This was a great experience for our team/corporate family event :-)

What a great team! We had 2 folks for a family fun day- one for face paint and one for henna. They had a line going for the full 3 hours we had them booked. They were super professional, arrived on time (and early!), and so kind with all the kids. Would highly recommend!

The artist we hired to paint faces for our event showed up roughly 30 minutes early which wasn’t a problem. Without us asking she chose to begin working before the contracted time and then asked if she still needed to stay until the end time we contracted for. She did stay until the contracted end time and her work was very good. She painted but didn’t have a great bedside manner or interaction with the children. The second issue was when a few adults wanted to have their faces painted she commented to more than one that she didn’t plan on painting adults. Our contract was for 2 hours of unlimited painting period. There was no age restriction. We received feedback from our guests that were put off by the artists verbal response to more than one adult in line. In the end as the host of the event her poor attitude reflected poorly on us. We won’t be hiring here again.
Carolyn arrived punctually and fit into the party perfectly. Many of the guests thought she was a dear friend. She quietly painted each of us with the designs of our choice of her own ideas while we continued to be part of the party or enjoy talking with her. I highly recommend her as an addition to your party.

we used this services for a birthday party with lots of picky kids :) it was great! face painting looked amazing and we had happy parents as it wiped off w baby wipes and facewash for this kids to go to school the next morning :)

Ahna came to my sons 5th birthday party and did the most fabulous job! She was so easy going, super responsive beforehand, on time and came with everything she needed. The kids looked had the most magical face paint I have ever seen. Seriously, this girl is amazing and you absolutely need to hire her for your next event! I don't usually leave a review but just WOW! Most professional face painters ever and on top of that they were amazing with our campers! The designs were amazing and I will for sure be working with them again!

I have never been more disappointed. When searching through gigsalad I read Ahna's reviews and was very pleased. I reached out weeks in advance and even talked to her 48 hours before my daughters 5th birthday. I got a phone call and a text message 15 minutes before the party was to start that she would not be able to make it. With a face painter already promised to all the kids they were heart broken that they didn't get to partake in it. I would of been a little more understanding had I been contacted the night before or even hours before the party so that would at least give me enough time to hunt down another face painter. I was unable to do so and had to go on without it and empravise. I will not recommend her to anyone due to this. Very very disappointed. It would be a 0 out of 5 stars but gigsalad is too nice.

She remained calm and professional even when the children bombarded her station to get their temporary tattoo or their face painted. The artwork was very impressive. I was looking for a face painter for my son's 6th birthday party and came across Art by Ahna. From the moment she responded to my request, within an hour tops, I knew she was exactly what I was looking for to make my son's party a special event! She was not only professional but very friendly throughout the planning process. She connected me with a DJ and together they really turned my son's special day into a totally awesome birthday party! She arrived on time and even helped me with finishing the party setup. The kids (Ages 3-12...and a few adults) loved getting their faces painted in her unique and creative designs. Her talent is quite impressive! Art by Ahna is not only affordable but the standard of service Ahna provided was top notch. The party location and date was changed but she still held up the agreement we made. That in itself saved me a lot of hassle with finding another artist. I would highly recommend this company for any event that you are planning! Thank you Ahna for not only making my son's ninja turtle party not only a day he will never forget but for also putting a smile on several kids faces! DAHC Art is an acronym for Designers Artists and Human Canvases. We are a community of artist who specialize in creating art using mixed media and body paint on a human canvas. We believe in body positivity and invite all good energy beings to our wonderful world of color. We offer a wide range of services, and classes for all ages. We host monthly jams where artists can collaborate and create with one another.
Owner, Ahna Gell grew up in Chelsea & Beverly MA. She is an SFX Makeup Artist and Face/Body Painter who has been in the industry for 13 years. Ahna has learned and continues to learn so much about face/body painting, SFX movie makeup, prosthetics and prop design. Ahna is the Owner and lead artist at DAHC Art.
She enjoys teaching beginner students and breaks her lessons down into simple parts anyone can follow.
