Dan's piano skills are adaptable to all different kinds of event situations. His perfect pitch and ability to improvise anything that he has heard, allows for requests across the board. He can play show tunes, the American Songbook, pop hits, TV themes, pretty much anything. Dan can perform alone on stage in front of an audience, or with vocalists and additional musicians. He is also adept at blending into the background and creating beautiful atmospheric music while participants are dining. He is musically sensitive to the needs of those in attendance. People have commented that Dan turns the piano into an orchestra, with a rich harmonic sense of fullness. He can play your piano, or will be happy to bring one of his own premier keyboards along with a PA system, particularly useful for outdoor events. Dan's warm personality and first-rate musical skills will enhance any event.

Dan Alan Levine was born and raised in the suburbs of New York and graduated from The Manhattan School of Music in NYC. He started playing the piano at age 2, and has been playing and performing ever since. Early in his career, Dan composed and arranged freelance big band charts for THE DICK CAVETT SHOW, and arranged, orchestrated, and/or composed background music for TV game shows including I’VE GOT A SECRET, and the theme song for WHAT’S MY LINE. Dan received numerous awards for his many commercials, and music for radio/TV stations through the years. His 80’s hit, BIG BAND MEDLEY, reached #19 on the Billboard charts and was the most requested new record in NYC for three weeks. An album followed.
Dan received a TONY AWARD nomination (BEST ORIGINAL SCORE) for composing the score of the Broadway Musical, Anna Karenina. The show received four TONY AWARD nominations, and was performed in Chicago, and to sold-out audiences in nine Japanese cities….3 separate times. Dan orchestrated and produced the Broadway Cast Album staring Melissa Errico, Kerry Butler, Gregg Edelman, Marc Kudish, Brian D’arcy James, and Jeff McCarthy. A Japanese cast recording and DVD were also produced. Dan orchestrated the music for the Japanese production of ANNA KARENINA.
Dan arranged/orchestrated/produced and played keyboards on the Leslie Uggams album, ON MY WAY TO YOU. He worked on that album in conjunction with some of the music industry’s leading legends including Marilyn and Alan Bergman, Jon Lucien, and Michel Legrand who sang on the album. Dan produced the Off-Broadway cast recording of THUNDER KNOCKING ON THE DOOR, and original blues musical written by acclaimed writer Keb’Mo, along with Anderson Edwards, and Keith Glover.
Dan’s current project is his new original contemporary jazz album, OVER THE MOON, and is currently creating an exciting array of new music for various artists. Dan is planning a 2023 tour to promote his new album and is available to play the piano at events of all types.

Dan will play your existing piano but is more than happy to bring his own keyboard and PA system. If performing in a large venue, a great sounding PA compatible with the size of the room will be necessary. One additional note: If using an existing piano, Dan requests that it please be tuned prior to his performance.
