Overview
Dane has played hundreds of weddings, corporate events, private parties, wineries, clubs, and much more. His voice has been described as a mix of Jason Mraz, Jack Johnson and Michael Jackson. He has been playing lead guitar and singing full-time, professionally for over 15 years. Raised on classic styles like Motown, and pop music from the Beatles to Stevie Wonder and Johnny Cash, Dane can play both ends of the spectrum and everything in between.
He is listed on here as a solo singer/guitarist, but he has a full band as well if you're looking for something a little more upbeat and dance oriented.

My guests kept commenting on how great the music was and my neighbors even sat out on their decks/ opened their windows so they could enjoy his playing. Dane played at our wedding ... he is great for live music. He is very talented and easy going. It was really nice to provide a list of songs to play and then not have to think about music while enjoying our guests and special day. Unfortunately the weather was chilly and we did not get to enjoy as much of his sounds since we were in and out of the terrace and he was already set up outside. I also think he would shine more at a birthday or reception/dinner party that is more geared to just his live music and instead of a small intimate wedding program which needs wedding music. However, we were so grateful to have him and his talent and he worked with us so nicely on our requests. He was a great addition to our wonderful day! I would definitely hire him again for a party. Thanks Dane!!

I've seen Dane as often as I can trying to find out where he's playing every weekend. He's such a talented guy - great singer, great musician and great looking all in one package! Try to catch him where ever he's gigging and I gaurantee you won't be disappointed. He covers all gendras and his own originals (which is hard to get out of your head!!!)

What to Expect
A smooth, professional experience with a talented singer/guitarist who has been doing this for over 15 years. I can be the tasteful background music for the reception, or I can make people dance on command. The choice is yours. I'm known for my vocal range and I regularly do covers like Michael Jackson or Stevie Wonder, right into Johnny Cash or Sublime. There's not much I can't play or sing. Please feel free to ask for references, I have tons of great reviews and tons of experience under my belt.
About
Live From Malana is the latest release from singer-songwriter Dane Drewis. In a nod to his musical roots, Malana was recorded and filmed live with a full band at the home of Dane’s parents, and it’s a family affair through and through: Dane’s mother and father (who use to kill it back in the day in a band called Freedom) can be heard singing backup and playing bass, respectively. The five-song EP and accompanying videos showcase a singular style that’s emerged from an upbringing steeped in funk, soul and classic rock.
Currently residing in Venice Beach, Dane will be playing extensively up and down the west coast and locally in 2016 as he continues to write new material and collaborate with artists that inspire him.
Dane Drewis’ 2010 solo debut “Rock and Soul” is both incendiary and nostalgic, combining the melodic feel of Motown and classic 70’s rock with a vocal style that is described as a mix of Bruno Mars, John Mayer, and Jack Johnson.
As a touring musician for over ten years, Dane has developed a commanding stage presence and an exceptional ability to get a crowd on its feet. Born into a family of rock and jazz musicians, his guitar playing is reminiscent of the greats—Santana, Jimmy Page, and Stevie Ray Vaughn—with influences from later artists such as Sublime and the Red Hot Chili Peppers. At once intimate and inclusive, Dane’s music has “…the power and hook to send half-smoked cigarettes hurling to the ground while their owners leave behind the hot summer night and dash into the bar to join the party” (Chico News & Review). His shows have been described as a “must-attend event” (Sac Press), and the melodies as “…original and unexpected, unlike anything else on the airwaves these days” (Evolution of Media).
After forming Cuesta Drive in college, Dane went on to write and compose three albums with the band before embarking on his solo project. His songs have been placed in ads for Google and YouTube as well as various film and TV spots. Led by Dane, “Rock and Soul” features the rest of the Drewis family—sisters Janel and Deena Drewis on backup vocals, guitars, keyboards and percussion, and his parents, Dale and Janet Drewis, on bass and vocal harmonies, respectively.
Dane relocated to Los Angeles, CA in early 2012 to further pursue his passion and dreams of playing music for as many people as possible.
Additional Booking Notes
For solo gigs, I am completely self-sufficient. I bring all my own PA sound equipment, and can provide lighting as well. I even provide music for when I take breaks, so that the ambience remains seamless. All I need is one dedicated electrical outlet, a flat stage area, and shade if playing outside.
For full band bookings (3-5 players), we are self-sufficient as well. We can sort out the details once booked.
