Biography
Of
Danielle Hamilton
Singer/Songwriter
Born and raised in San Antonio, Texas, Danielle Hamilton grew up having dreams of becoming a singer. She started singing in church and was always allowed to sing in the choirs that had older aged groups because she knew how to harmonize, lead songs, and sing beyond the abilities of her peers.
Raised in the church, Danielle was heavily influenced by her father and his ability to sing as well as the gospel group that he had with her two older brothers and other family members. As her age kept her from singing in her father’s group, Danielle really wanted to be a part of what they were doing. Danielle remembers the rehearsal nights when everyone would be at the house, but all she could do was look around the corner and watch, listen, and learn.
This caused Danielle to keep to herself and she then began writing what some may have called “bubble gum” love songs. Not Gospel music but R&B music. Danielle recalls that she started writing at the age of nine years old. She developed her skills through sharing her music with friends from middle school and high school and entering talent shows all over the city of San Antonio. Although she was still in church, she wasn’t singing or writing church music.
While in college, Danielle traveled back and forth from school to San Antonio to sing in an R&B group called Difference. They were winning every contest that they entered and getting city wide attention as well as attention in other surrounding cities outside of San Antonio. However, management overpowering and disagreements caused Difference to break up. This didn’t stop Danielle because she continued to pursue her dreams to the best of her ability.
Danielle began singing in night clubs, well sneaking in clubs to be able to enter singing contests. She was winning weekly with one of her members from Difference, but when it came down to the final week of the contest, her ex-band mate moved to New York with a guy that she met over the internet. Danielle was devastated and vowed to pursue a solo career because knew she wouldn’t let herself down.
In and out of studios with endless broken promises eating away at her dream, Danielle continued to do all that she could. With her love of R&B always pushing her to never give up, Danielle decided to give the group thing another chance with a group of young ladies that she grew up singing with in church. They were forced to be around each other because their parents sang in the same Gospel association. On some Sunday evenings, they would go outside for a 15 minute rehearsal and then return inside of the church to announce that they were going to sing. The congregation was always pleased.
The group that was formed years later would be known as The River City Christianettes. This group of young ladies stayed together for 12 years, and with a year and a half break, they still sing together, but that let down of a dedicated group came back to haunt Danielle.
Danielle never stopped singing or writing. In fact, Danielle wrote 10 of the 11 songs on The River City Christianettes 2nd CD titled, The River City Christianettes. Gospel is engraved in Danielle because she grew up on it and that will never go away. However, other genres of songwriting have become a great interest to her over the years. Danielle has written country songs as well as Alternative songs. R&B is etched in her just as much as Gospel. Her love for writing music and wanting to become a professional is a hunger that she knows she must feed in order to have a happy career life.
From the platform of The River City Christianettes, Danielle has had the pleasure of sharing the stage with such great Gospel groups as, Lee Williams & The Highway Q.C.’s, Doc McKenzie & The Hi-Lites, The Soul Stirrers, Jewel & Converted, The Jackson Southernaires, and Kirk Franklin just to name a few. Recently, Danielle sang background vocals for two songs on Evelyn Turrentine-Agee’s most current CD entitled, “One More Day” (All I Need (trk-7) and Leave It (trk-11)). This was definitely a blessing with many more expected blessings to follow. Praise God!
Currently, Danielle is a solo artist and she recently released her first single, P.U.S.H. Thru (Pray Until something Happens), on May 20, 2016. Her goal is to write music for other artists and to minister in song on many different stages worldwide telling a dying world that Jesus still lives! Danielle is anointed and her music is a message that touches the soul.
As she is constantly being utilized as an instrument of praise, soul to soul you’ll engage with the beauty of the message of the songs that God has planted deep down within her. May God continue to bless and keep you and through you may His will be done!
Danielle has been employed in financial institutions for the majority of her work experience. Also, she is a Realtor and a Paralegal. She has a B.A. in Business, and an AA in accounting. Danielle is also a cheerleading coach. Although educated, Danielle’s passion and career happiness is in songwriting and singing.
Danielle has developed her craft through trial and error, but she has been seeking an avenue to be given an opportunity to be developed into a professional singer/songwriter. Danielle is willing to put in the sweat hours and hard work that it’s going to take in order to be able to work with other professionals currently in the music business. She has experienced many broken promises and fast talking long enough to know what might not be the best decision to make or advice to take. Danielle realizes that it’s time to start working with reputable people in the music business. Danielle wants to be able to be a blessing to someone with her same passion so that they won’t have to go through the same frustrations that she has experienced. San Antonio is a great place to live, but she knows now that she can’t reach her goals from there. Danielle has to reach beyond the break and she’s been ready and willing to be developed beyond her expectations to become a professional singer/songwriter.
